A quiet Canarian

Playa Paraiso – on Tenerife’s southwest coast – is a relaxed sort of place, with a laid-back mix of shops, bars and restaurants. It’s got a couple of great neighbours – Playa de las Americas has the all-night clubs, while stylish Costa Adeje comes with a Cartier shop. There’s a couple of top-notch waterparks in the vicinity too – Aqualand and Siam Park waterpark. All this, and volcanic Mount Teide waiting in the wings.

A popular lido and nearby beaches

Playa Paraiso has a small beach, but alot of people use the saltwater lido, which comes with a tropical-style waterfall, sunloungers and a restaurant. You’re not far from sand here, though. Costa Adeje, a 10-minute drive away, has 2 Blue Flag beaches. And Playa de las Americas, 15 minutes away, has 6 beaches packed with watersports.

Easy excursions

Just before Playa de las Americas, you’ve got Aqualand waterpark and Jungle Park, a safari park with everything from white lions to eagles. If you’re heading inland, meanwhile, you can be at Mount Teide in an hour. It’s Spain’s highest mountain, not to mention the world’s third largest mountain volcano – take a cable car to the top for fabulous views and a national park.
