View All DealsWith its long beaches, relaxed marina and picturesque promenade, holidays to Puerto Pollensa give you a taste of the real Majorca in a breathtaking setting.
On Majorca’s northeast coast, Puerto Pollensa serves up a laidback take on island life. This small town is in an oyster-shaped bay, with the Serra de Tramuntana mountains rising behind it. With its pretty beaches, its cobbled promenade edged with charming old stone houses, and its chic marina, this is Spain the way it was meant to be.
Puerto Pollensa has two great beaches to its name. There’s Pollensa Beach, a kilometre-long expanse of golden sand with plenty of watersports options and sunloungers, just south of the marina. And Albercutx Beach, a narrow but busy two-kilometre strip that’s really family-friendly, thanks to its shallow water and natural shade.
The town scores highly in the beauty stakes. Right behind the beach is Pine Walk, a tree-fringed walkway that clings to the coast. Not only is it brimming with seafood restaurants but it’s the setting for romantic sunset walks. Then there’s the main square, Plaza Miguel Capllonch, lined on three sides with restaurants and bars, and home to a busy market on Wednesdays.
A 30-minute bus ride away is Cap de Formentor. It’s a rugged peninsula with huge cliffs that dip sharply into the sea, serving up some of Majorca’s most dramatic vistas. It’s also home to Formentor Hotel, the 5-star hotel with its own private beach – this is where Agatha Christie wrote Problem at Pollensa Bay.
