Cap de Salou holidays
Holidays to Cap de Salou give you quiet beaches and relaxed evenings – but with bustling bars and restaurants close at hand.
Best of both worlds
Cap de Salou sits pretty on a pine-fringed headland between Salou and La Pineda on Spain’s Costa Dorada, famous for its golden beaches. It’s a small, away-from-it-all kind of place with a compact portfolio of restaurants and friendly bars. You’ve got a best-of-both-worlds scenario here, with lively waterparks and buzzing nightlife on standby just along the coast.
Spotless beaches
This area of Catalonia isn’t called the Golden Coast for nothing – and Cap de Salou has bagged some great little coves along its stretch. The sand gets a daily clean while the inviting water is perfect for a peaceful swim. And there are some great Blue Flag beaches either side at Salou and La Pineda, all with plenty of bars and restaurants.
Theme and waterparks
Away from the beaches, there’s the colossal PortAventura theme park at Salou. It’s got adrenaline-pumping rides, themed areas filled with pirates, can-can dancers and acrobats, plus a waterpark. Speaking of which, you’ve got lots of slides, watery play areas and a surfing simulator at nearby La Pineda’s Aquapolis.
Daytrips to Barcelona and Montserrat
Barcelona is about an hour and a quarter away. It’s a city best known for Gaudi’s quirky architecture – his most famous showpiece is the surreal-looking unfinished cathedral, La Sagrada Familia. Or 90 minutes’ drive takes you the huge Benedictine monastery at Montserrat, way up in the Spanish mountains.
