Costa del Silencio holidays
Jump to sections
Holidays to Costa del Silencio land you in an off-beat spot in southern Tenerife, near some of the island’s best bits.
The Silent Coast
As its name suggests, Costa del Silencio – AKA The Silent Coast – is a slice of peace and quiet. It’s on Tenerife’s south coast, around 20 minutes’ drive from Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas. You won’t find swathes of big hotels here – it’s more of a residential setup, complete with international restaurants and a tennis club. And a scattering of bars means you have plenty of places to spend the balmy evenings in.
Seaside setting
There aren’t any big beaches in Costa del Silencio, but you can still make the most of being next to the sea. The water around here is super clear, thanks to the lack of sand. Amarilla Beach is a popular snorkelling spot for that exact reason, and the craggy cove also plays host to a bar for post-swim refreshments. If you fancy a stint on a sandy beach, the nearest big stretch is over in Los Cristianos.
Dozens of daytrips
When it comes to daytrip destinations, you’ll have loads of choices from Costa del Silencio. Costa Adeje’s only a 20-minute taxi ride away, just the other side of Playa de las Americas. Here, you’ll find Blue Flag beaches, seafront restaurants and a waterfall. Famous waterpark Siam Park’s on the doorstep, too. And away from the coast, Teide National Park lines up volcanic craters and rivers of petrified lava.
