View All DealsHolidays to Olhos d'Agua take you to a traditional fishing village where the sardines are super-fresh and the locals are friendly. And you're in easy reach of both Vilamoura and Albufeira for extra shopping and nightlife.
Olhos D’Agua is on the central Algarve, backdropped by the region’s signature sandstone cliffs. It’s an easygoing fishing village where you’ll see fishermen hauling in their catch ready to be barbecued at the friendly restaurants later that night. There are lots of eating places and bars along the main street that runs down the hill to the waterfront – where you’ll find a lovely little beach.
Olhos d’Agua means eyes of water, a name it gets from the freshwater springs that sometimes bubble up through the sand at low tide. The beach comes with lots of rock pools that are great for poking around, but it’s also well set up for relaxing, with sunloungers and bars. As for the water, it’s shallow enough for paddlers and has plenty to keep watersports fans happy, too.
Olhos d’Agua sits among a string of trip-worthy towns and villages dotted along the coastline. A 15-minute drive west takes you to Albufeira with its bar-lined strip, Roman aqueduct and Arabian architecture in the old town. The same distance to the east and you’ve got a chic marina and boutique shops in Vilamoura. And from here, if you drive inland for 20 minutes you can discover pretty Loule, which comes with a ruined castle and an art gallery.
