Tremezzo is a small town, but there are still a few shops to browse. You'll find casual clothing shops, souvenir stores and more.

For a quiet evening, stroll along the waterfront and take in the views. Wouldn't an ice-cream from one of the local gelaterias be the perfect accompaniment?

In the evenings behind the portico at Tremezzo, it can get lively. Head out for one of the small bars or restaurants and you might stumble across the beginnings of a party.

As you'd expect, Tremezzo restaurants have plenty of Italian fare on the menu. But look out for local specialities too, including lake perch. Restaurants in the town focus on simple, local ingredients and tend to be family run.

Fancy an evening meal with a view? You'll find plenty of restaurants offering al fresco dining and good views of the lake.

The main bus route is the C10, which takes you to Villa Carlotta as well as other gems like Menaggio and Como.

As well as the long-distance boats heading north and south, Tremezzo's mid-lake passenger boat service circuits every hour in the summer. Stops include Tremezzo, Lenno, Menaggio, Bellagio, Varenna and, sometimes, Bellano.

Getting your bearings in Tremezzo is a breeze. The village is essentially a strip along the lakefront, with a few small, narrow paths and steep stairways leading up the hill. Walking is definitely the best way to explore. However, apart from the flat main road, getting around here is tricky if you use a wheelchair or have mobility issues.
