Parghelia is still little known as a holiday resort, but its beach certainly measures up to its better-established neighbours. Here, tucked between headlands, you’ll find postcard-perfect white sand that’s brushed by the Tyrrhenian Sea. Away from the shore, the town's a quiet customer. Think tempting trattorias serving seafood freshly plucked from the local waters. And a pretty parish church that houses an intricately carved altar. Or for something buzzier, there’s always scenic Tropea, a clifftop town packed with colourful shops, eateries and must-see monuments. It's only five minutes' drive down the road, too.
