Svoronata holidays
Jump to sections
Holidays to Svoronata reveal an away-from-it-all village with a family-friendly reputation. And from its sleepy streets, a trio of beaches and Argostoli are within grabbing distance.
Rural Kefalonia
Svoronata is on the south-west coast of Kefalonia, set among the fertile valleys and rolling hills of the Livathos region. The village has retained much of its old-world charm, thanks to the sleepy winding streets and colourful gardens. Homely holiday villas dot the outskirts, surrounded by rambling olive groves and perfectly-plotted fruit orchards. And if you take a 5-minute drive, you’ll fetch up at 3 sandy beaches – Ammes, Avithos and Ai Helis.
Sandy beaches
The sinuous coastline serves up a trio of beaches. Towering headlands bookend Ai Helis Beach, a sheltered scoop of sand strung with volleyball nets. Avithos Beach, meanwhile, has shallow, child-friendly waters, uncrowded sands and a taverna. Ammes Beach is the quietest of the lot and comes well-stocked with sunloungers and parasols.
Lassi and Argostoli
Lassi is only a 15-minute drive away from Svoronata. It’s the biggest holiday destination in Kefalonia, so it comes with all the trappings – big beaches, sand-side bars, and an impressive array of watersports. Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia, is a 15-minute drive away, too. Its main square is packed with al fresco bars and restaurants.
