Fiskardo holidays
Jump to sections
Holidays to Fiskardo take you to Kefalonia's most glamorous town. With its pastel buildings, waterside restaurants and fancy harbour, it's no wonder the stars stop by when they're in Greece.
A spot of glamour
This stylish town on Kefalonia's northern tip is known as the St Tropez of Greece – and with good reason, too. Stars like Demi Moore and Jon Bon Jovi have been spotted here. It’s Fiskardo’s beauty and history that attracts the A-list – it mostly escaped the 1953 earthquake, and the candy-coloured Venetian buildings draped in bougainvillea make a great backdrop for a glitzy marina.
Picture-perfect pebble beaches
Fiskardo has a dinky beach near the harbour, but the prettiest bays are a little stroll away. The nearest is Foki Beach, a pebble bay surrounded by tall forest. The waters here are calm, sheltered and clear, making them perfect for swimming. And behind the sands is a taverna that serves up Kefalonia's famous meat pies. If you fancy checking it out, it's about a 20-minute stroll away.
Daytrips to Argostoli
You’re an hour from Argostoli, the island's cosmopolitan capital. Here, you can wander along the palm-lined waterfront and watch the fishermen bring in their catch each morning, or look over to the Victorian Drapano Bridge. There are a couple of museums to explore, plus a library filled with rare books and manuscripts. And for lunch, there’s the main square, lined with cafés and restaurants.
