Lovran holidays
Jump to sections
Lovran holidays line up a quiet Baroque town square, chive-green countryside and a duo of beaches.
Quiet Croatian getaways
Located in the north of Kvarner Bay, Lovran’s named after the laurel trees that grow in this calm corner of Croatia. From its faded Medieval quarter to its quaint harbour, it captures the old world charms of the Opatijan Riviera without even trying. It’s got a couple of beaches, too.
Into the old town
The old quarter’s like a spiderweb of narrow streets, faded Italianate mansions and colourful gardens. Check out the town’s watchtower, as well as the 14th-century church and frescoed chapel. Then make a beeline to the old town hall, where you can snap a picture of its front. It shows St George spearing a dragon.
Lovran’s beaches
There’s a double act of beaches in Lovran. Kvarner’s the main beach, and is built from sand and concrete. And Peharovo Beach is located on the west side of the town. This pebbly number’s right by the Lungomare promenade, so you’ve got restaurants and cafés close by.
