Best time to go to Bali

Like most tropical islands, Bali has two distinct seasons – rainy and dry. And it’s got a toasty average temperature of 30°C. The rainy season runs from October to March, and is defined by hot, humid temperatures and short, heavy downpours. May to October is referred to as ‘summer’ by the locals. This is dry season, so you can expect clear skies and cooler temperatures – although, the mercury rarely dips below the mid-20s. If you’re a surfer, this is also the time to catch some of the island’s best waves.

Passports & Visas

To enter Indonesia, your passport must have an expiry date at least six months after the date you arrive and have at least two blank pages. You must also have a visa:

• Apply for a visa online between 14 days and 48 hours before your departure. This costs IDR 500,000, which is approximately £23. For an extra fee, you can also apply through our visa and travel authorisation partner, Sherpa.

Once you have your visa, you must complete the All Indonesia arrival card using the digital portal within 72 hours of your departure. This form replaces multiple separate processes including health and customs declarations, and you'll receive a QR code via email that must be presented upon arrival.
