Meet TUI Elara

TUI Elara – which means bright in Greek – will be the eighth ship in our TUI River Cruises fleet when she sets sail in 2027. She’ll sail on the Moselle, the Belgian and Dutch Waterways, and the Rhine River, where storybook castles and centuries-old wineries line up alongside big-name cities like Amsterdam and Cologne. Like our other river cruise ships, it’ll be an adults-only set-up onboard, and with a maximum of 138 passengers, there’ll be an intimate feel, too.

Available to book from 16th March 2026. If you’d like to make an appointment with one of our specialist travel advisors, please see the link below.

What to expect onboard

The ship

Like all our river cruise ships, TUI Elara will be just for adults. Onboard, it’ll be Full Board Plus as standard, so three meals a day – plus drinks at mealtimes – will be part of your package. There’ll be a spacious top deck, with areas for activities and relaxation, too, plus free unlimited Wi-Fi.

Itineraries

Our itineraries will be for five, seven and 14 nights, and they’ll take you along the Rhine River, the Moselle and the Belgian and Dutch Waterways. Look out for cosmopolitan cities like Frankfurt alongside oh-so-cute villages like Boppard. Plus, for the first time on our TUI River Cruises, we’ll be dropping anchor in Belgium’s majestic capital city, Brussels.

Food and drink

You can look forward to two restaurants, two bars and flexible dining times onboard. Plus, there’ll be occasional barbecues on the top deck.

Cabins

There’ll be a variety of cabin types onboard, including our French Balcony Junior Suites. All our cabins will have a bright and airy feel, plus all the amenities you’ve come to expect from our ships. Air-conditioning, a flatscreen TV, a safe, a mini-fridge, and tea and coffee making facilities will all come as standard.

Entertainment

There’ll be nightly entertainment in the ship’s main bar – Observatory. Look forward to local guest acts, quizzes, movies and live music. Daytime activities will be on the cards, too, including Yoga classes and games on the top deck, plus a putting green.

*Planned entertainment is subject to change.

Introducing our new port of call, Brussels

Pristine architecture, a UNESCO-protected central square and first-rate museums are just some of the calling cards in Belgium’s capital city, which you can visit on our Dutch and Belgian Gems itinerary. It’s a big hit with food and drink lovers, too, thanks to its quirky beer cafés and independent chocolate shops selling the country’s famously delicious pralines.

And a few familiar favourites…

Cologne

Cologne’s an iconic German city for so many reasons – like its beer halls, Christmas markets and its giant Gothic cathedral. It’s also a city of contrasts where ancient Roman walls and Medieval churches rub shoulders with a postmodern quarter chock-full of chic shops. Not to mention, the city’s waterfront chocolate museum, where you can get your own customised bar made right in front of you.

Koblenz

Koblenz is a meeting place of mountains and rivers, and the Rhine and Moselle rivers come together here, too. The waterfront’s dotted with UNESCO-stamped forts and palaces, while fairy tale castles christen the hilltops on the edge of town. The surrounding valleys, meanwhile, are teeming with terraced vines and world-class wineries.

Basel

Switzerland’s cultural capital sits in the north-west corner of the country, very close to the borders of France and Germany. The Medieval old town’s a must-visit, thanks to its social market square, while nearby, you’ll find Basel’s 12th-century Gothic cathedral. The city’s also home to around 40 museums, including the Kunstmuseum, which houses the oldest public art collection in the world.
