Tightening the purse strings but still dreaming of an escape? Here, we let you in on seven hacks that can help you spend less on your escape and save cash while you’re away. We’ve got the lowdown on everything, from how to bag a secret deal to avoiding a huge phone bill when you get back – it’s the welcome home nobody wants, right? Let’s get into it…

Once you’re ready, check out our best holiday deals.

1. Get in early

Book early and you’ll not only get first pick of the best breaks and offers, but you can lock down your getaway with a low or a £0 deposit. Plus, there’s the option to pay your holiday in instalments when you pay by Direct Debit.* Feeling spontaneous? Good news – you can normally grab a deal when you book last minute. And finally, if you’re travelling without kids, book outside the school holidays for a cheaper escape.

3. Go All Inclusive

It’s easy to think an All Inclusive holiday will be more expensive, but once you’re at the hotel, you won’t have to spend a penny on your food, snacks and drinks. TUI MAGIC LIFE clubs offer All Inclusive around the clock, and you’ll get loads of activities included, too – from archery to Zumba. Our TUI BLUE hotels are another strong contender for an All Inclusive holiday, with everything from cocktail-making classes to sunset yoga as part of the deal. Plus, hotels with the Family Fun highlight come with free TUI Kids’ Club sessions. Our Kids’ Club teams are certified to UK standards, so adults can relax knowing your little ones are in safe hands. Fancy a Self Catering escape instead? Look out for accommodation with well-equipped kitchens, where you can prep your own meals with ease.

4. Grab a free kid’s place*

Families can save £££s with a free kid’s place. Bag one and you won’t need to pay a penny for your child – flights, transfers, and food and drink are included at no extra cost. How good is that? The best spots usually get snapped up quickly, so book early to grab a free place at our fave family hotels.

5. Use the TUI Travel Money Card

With fluctuating rates and the uncertainty of credit or debit card charges, spending money abroad can sometimes be a little stressful. You can forget about your worries with a TUI Travel Money Card, though –  this reloadable card is commission-free and the exchange rate’s fixed at the time of purchase. Plus, it’s free to use abroad – anywhere you see the Mastercard® Acceptance Mark.

Forget fearing your phone bill after you’ve returned from holiday and sort an eSim from Airalo before you go. It’s super easy to set up and there’s no need to change your number – just scan a QR code and add low-cost data to your current plan. It means you can easily keep in touch with friends and family back home and use your maps app to help find the best spots when you’re out and about.
