There’s plenty to do on family holidays to Mauritius. Hotels put children’s pools and large rooms right by the beach.
Le Morne
Le Morne is about as picturesque as they come. A sandy beach and the UNESCO-listed Brabant Peak frame the lagoon. Watersports reel in families, who sign up for windsurfing lessons and snorkelling tours of the offshore coral reef. The waterfalls and mountains of Black River Gorges National Park are just up the road, too.
Flic en Flac
Flic en Flac is livelier than your average Mauritian beach resort. For starters, the beach is one of the longest on the island, handing out a lagoon, coral reefs and miles of talcum-soft sand. It’s also a great spot for scuba diving lessons. Drive out of town, and you’ll come across miles of fluttering sugarcane fields — and the odd rum distillery.
