Spend your time wandering around a pretty village surrounded by outstanding natural beauty, on a holiday to Wengen.
A quieter alternative to bustling Interlaken, Wengen is a pretty alpine village in the majestic Jungfrau region.
There’s a timeless charm to Wengen, and with the mighty Jungfrau as its scenic backdrop, it’s picture perfect too. Folklore evenings give a taste of the local culture and there are plenty of beautiful walks to take, starting from the village itself or from the top of the Männlichen cable car.
For those keen to explore the whole Jungfrau region, the transport network is brilliantly linked and the system of mountain railways and cable cars run with clockwork efficiency. One view you won’t want to miss is from the Sphinx Observatory at the UNESCO-protected Jungfraujoch. Known as the Top of Europe, you reach it via Europe's highest railway station and observation point on the famous Jungfrau Railway.
Please be aware that in early May, some transport routes, walking paths and hiking trails may be closed, especially higher up. Local business may also be closed or operating for shorter periods of time. We recommend checking timetables in advance and expecting a quieter atmosphere at this time of year.
There won’t be a rep based in Switzerland, but if you’ve got any questions during your holiday, you can call our 24/7 TUI Service Centre at any time. And don't forget, with your Half-Fare Travelcard, which is included in your holiday to Wengen, you can explore for less. There is no need to apply before you go and it gives you up to half price on train, bus and boat tickets, as well as some cable car tickets.
