Shopping in Palma
The shopping scene in Palma ticks off everything from big department stores like El Corte Inglès to local craft markets selling handmade treasures. There’s also a great range of boutiques and designer shops. Head to Avenue de Jaume III or Passeig des Born and wander the tree-lined avenue, dipping into the shops and cafes.
Hit the beach
If you want to mix your city break with some time on the beach, there are several options in Palma. Playa de Palma is a sandy stretch about a kilometre towards Portixol. Or, Ca’n Pere Antoni – the closest spot to the city offers up the perfect mix of sun, sea and sand, plus a wide promenade.
Explore the island by train
Looking to get a flavour of the island away from the capital? It’s worth seeking out the Soller train. This vintage wooden train takes you through the Majorcan countryside, passing by some impressive views along the way – think orange groves and rocky mountains. Plus, you’ll get the chance to explore the town of Soller once you arrive.
