Hotel Rocamarina

We stayed for a week following a cruise. Actually enjoyed the peace and quiet. Rooms are a good size with comfortable (and very large)double bed. Lots of storage space, free room safe (the best instructions I have ever seen)free fridge and pool towels waiting on the bed. Large balcony with good furniture. Air conditioning was fine . We never went round the pool ,garden was fine lots of chairs and umbrellas. very large Pool ,not freezing. Enjoyed swimming in it and the aqua .classes . Food at night was fantastic but if you are not happy where you are placed .please ask to change. we were far happier when we got a table that suited us. Wine is 16 euros a bottle but they keep it for next night. I found service very good. People were mature but not particularly old . very nice walk to beach and fort and enough in the small town for a walk out at night. We used to come back and watch some of the entertainment after 10pm. Actually thought some of it was very good. (half a litre of sangria 8-50) I wish this hotel well in the future in the Sky tours book and also accepting bookings online. I do not think it needs to be a Gold hotel to carry on, just keep its high standards

We visited this hotel and stayed for 11 nights. Hotel is dated does need a refurbishment if honest,but was clean and tidy and well maintained. Check in was quick but transfer from airport took 2hrs. Staff are friendly but you need to get to know them. Food was fantastic. Tui Gold but should be called OLD, we're in are 50s but we don't need to push out the nails from our coffins not yet, entertainment was so far to dated, that it felt I was born in the 30s.No tea or coffee facility in the room (4stars)don't think so been in b and bs that have had that. Drinks in bar overpriced compared to local bars so stayed out(lose for hotel). No table water at evening meal had to pay 2.50euros for a small bottle but 21cent at local shop for a 1ltr.We did feel sometimes like being in a care home. Got told off when being out with another couple on holiday we met for being late back by night porter, didn't know there was a curfew and had to be in bed by 11pm.No back ground music around the pool area so sunbathed in the garden area to listen to music from hotel opposite, asked Tui reps about this and answer was some guests like peace, hmm not asking for rave music but something suttle, you can hear every conversation or a pin drop otherwise. Race for the pool in morning god didn't know oaps could move so fast towels on loungers then disappear half the morning. Being English and a all English Hotel have we lost our sense of humour, a group of 6 of us average a 58 who come from all parts of England and never met before, upset people because we were laughing, Sad Sad Sad. We Hear this Hotel is joining Skytours (good) refurb hotel first. Adults only great, ban anyone over the age of 60 ha ha.

The hotel is spotless in all areas. Rooms comfortable apart from the beds which are extremely hard. Quality of food was excellent. Short walk to other restaurants, shops and bars. This hotel being taken off TUI gold but they say they are keeping the same standards for future holidays. A good distance from the centre of Cala D'Or but only 5/6 euro by taxi. I would go back.
