Cala Tarida holidays
Ibiza’s west coast is where holidays to Cala Tarida are set. It’s known for floury white sands and Balearic sunsets. The beach is lapped by shallow waters, and you’re a short drive from the Sunset Strip in San Antonio. The capital’s close by, too – it’s home to a 14th-century cathedral.
Quiet west-coast town
Cala Tarida curls around a bay on the west coast of Ibiza. Behind it are rolling hills coated in greenery, while in front are some of the best sunsets in the Balearic Islands. It’s in peaceful surroundings, although lively San Antonio is only a short drive away if you fancy upping the tempo.
Cala Tarida Beach
Cala Tarida’s floury white sands unravel for 270 metres, punctuated by rocky outcrops that are great for diving off and snorkelling round. The waters here are calm, shallow and family-friendly, and there's a clutch of sand-side bars serving lunches and ice-creams.
Daytrips
A 15-minute bus ride will land you in San Antonio’s main square. Head to the West End for shops, restaurants and discos, or wander down to the Sunset Strip, where laid-back beach bars boast front-row views for sunset. Alternatively, you can drive 35 minutes to the capital, Ibiza Town, where you’ll find a walled old town and a 14th-century cathedral.
