Came here 27th sept for 2 weeks and felt it was in an old people's home. Average age probably 80. Hotel looked tired on the inside. Air con vent in room had mould surrounding it. Wife was ill 2nd week probably due to the crap being blown out of it. Drinks were expensive entertainment poor Got cab into town every other night and went into lively bars to keep my sanity. The only thing going for this hotel is it's on a lovely beach !More
Nice quiet setting on the beach. Food excellent great choice. Staff are what makes this hotel. Nothing is too much trouble and the service is second to none. There are less staff than my previous visit but they work so hard and always have a smile. Great time! !!More
As good as always
This was our fifth visit to this hotel so we knew what to expect The decor is the same but as it was well done in the first place it has stood the test of time but I expect that it will be done in a couple of years (Note the Olivia Beach next door is to close 2108 for its refurb) We always stay at the back of the hotel, room 315 three times and 414 last time, so we can get the late rays on the balcony with a GnT. The beach was as clean as usual but can be windy and very windy at times. The food did repeat itself after seven days but there was plenty to choose from, and the hot desert was always worth a try. Drinks in hotels are always more expensive so not a surprise. Would we go again yes because we know what we are getting and there is no need for the welcome drink and island trips.More
Nice Hotel on the beach- very quiet
I went to this hotel with my wife for a week in September 2017. On first impressions it looked nice-they gave you a glass of Cava whilst waiting for the room- nice touch I was put in room 118 (probably one of the worse views in the hotel (rooms 110-120 are probably the same) We arrived late on a Saturday night and thought, the rooms seemed fine. we went into the bar, first thing i notice was the price of alcohol € 3.15 for a small bottle of local lager.(but you cannot go anywhere else so you have to pay it) Note-There is a local supermarket approx a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel charge you €20 per week for the safe- which is too expensive Food Good selection each night and they cater for most tastes. When having breakfast there are sparrows which fly around the room, the patio is opened so they can get in. So if you do not like fluttering birds (like my wife) you may be put off. And if you leave your breakfast to go and get something inside, we saw birds landing on tables and pinching food off the plates (not very hygienic) We went the a la carte restaurant one night, which was nice (you have to book) They had a band on Saturday night and although they were not bad, the dance floor is full of old people waltzing (so if that is what you like- great) We thought it was too quiet so took a cab into Corralejo each night Cost approx €8-9 each way, but you have a great selection of bars which are far cheaper, so you save the cost of the cab fair each night on purchasing cheaper alcohol Couple of bars worth a mention:- Mojito on the water front (nice views across the bay) Whiskey bar- nice cocktails Chablis bar- cheaper booze- live music McCarthys Irish bar- only small but good entertainment. Seven pints pub- they have cabaret acts on and always busy The hotel Nice and clean- maids are very helpful Its about 3 miles from the main strip in Corralejo, it has a sister hotel about 500 Metres away, but never went in that one. The hotel is right on the beach, and is quite nice. There is a nudist beach about half a mile up the beach, so don't be shocked by some of the sights. There is no music by the pool and they have a decent pool bar. They give you tokens to pass to the pool boy, who gives you towels. These can be changed daily if you wish, but you have to take them back at the end of your stay and pass the tokens into reception After my first night i complained to the hotel that my air conditioning was not working and i could not open the patio door as the room is facing a power plant and there is a 24/7 constant humming noise. It made it difficult sleeping in the heat. They said they would fix it. They never Also complained to reception after the 2nd and 3rd night- nothing happened. On the 4th day i spoke to what i assumed was the reception manager and again advised of my problem and my displeasure. He said he would sort it. I got a note put in my room asking me to go to reception. I did and was advised the air conditioning in my room was broke (this i hold told them 4 days earlier) They moved me 4 doors away to room 114. Similar room but air condition worked, and they advised that the wall in room 118 would have to be removed so they can fix the air conditioning. I told Thompson/Tui (whom i booked the holiday with) about the air conditioning fiasco and they fobbed me off saying the hotel had no record of the air conditioning being broke in room 118- what a joke- will not book with them again. I can see why people like this hotel, but i will not be going back to this hotel, as it is just too quiet, but some people may like it if you are 60+More
Just returned on Wednesday from this hotel it is in a beautiful location ideal for beach lovers and a conservation area with amazing views. The staff are wonderful friendly and very helpful my only negative is the lack of nightlife and I don't mean clubs etc there isn't even a quiet bar in the area would be fantastic with a quiet bar open on the wonderful beach of a night instead you have no option but to stay in the hotel or taxi/bus ride to carrelejo which has bars restaurants shops etc. We hired a car from the hotel computer direct from Avis so easy dropped at hotel n picked up we travelled the length of the island stopping off at areas of interest to us and it only cost £49 a day no heavy traffic or confusing maps saw some lovely scenery do it again in a heartbeat.
