Albir holidays are ideal for holiday-goers chasing the Costa Blanca’s sun and sea. This upmarket area has a relaxed resort atmosphere, and its proximity to Benidorm’s a big plus – this bustling party hub is just around the corner.
Some people might see Albir on the map, right next to the ‘Las Vegas of the Mediterranean’, and guess that this place isn’t that different from its next-door neighbour. But it’s got plenty of contrasts with Benidorm, from the small-scale resort charm in the town centre to the go-slow beach life locals lead down by the coast. And there’s lots to love about this peaceful alternative to some of Spain’s nightlife capitals. For example, the nearby Sierra Helada nature walking trails and El Faro lighthouse walk offer a scenic way to get your steps in.
One thing Albir does have in common with some of its better-known postcode pals is its shoreline. Playa de Racó de l’Albir is a Blue Flag pebbly beach that’s backed by a star-studded promenade. It’s a bit like Hollywood’s Walk of Fame landmark, with the names of Spanish cinema icons etched into the pavement for a whole 2 kilometres. Souvenir spots are in no short supply around here, so you can do some late-night shopping once you’ve done your walk.
Albir’s proximity to Valencia and Benidorm means there’s no need to twiddle your thumbs when you fancy a break from sunbathing. In the summer months, you can splash around at the Aqualandia waterpark or visit Terra Mitica Theme Park – it’s one of the biggest in Europe. Alicante day trips are on the cards, too. This place has its fingers on Spain’s gastronomical pulse, having been named the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy in 2025.
