Orient holidays

Port de Sóller

Holidays to Orient base you in a time-stamped village in the remote Majorcan countryside.

Secluded stays

Northwest Majorca’s a hilly sea of green, and Orient’s dotted right in the middle of it. This village is so small you could blink and miss it – only around 30 people live here. But you’ll want to keep your eyes open, because what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in character. Rustic, stone-built, 14th-century houses nudge right up to the narrow roads, while pine-carpeted hills linger in the background.

Hillside hikes

When you’re tottering around Orient, you’ll probably spot groups of hikers coming and going. And make sure you pack some comfy trainers, because when you hear about the local scenery, you’ll be keen to join them. The hillside trails around here roam in and out of thick pine forest. They’re dotted with trickling waterfalls and emerald pools, and the bleats of sheep and goats are a constant reminder that you’re in the countryside.

Boat trips, bagged

It’d be rude to visit Majorca and not spend some time at the coast. And when you stay in Orient, you’ll be just 45 minutes’ drive away from Port de Sóller – one of the island’s best-loved spots. The seaside town comes with a sweep of latte-coloured sand and a list of waterfront restaurants that’s as long as your arm. As for the marina, it’s the ideal starting point for sailing trips to nearby bays, like Sa Calobra – a secluded pebble beach flanked by towering cliffs.
