Downtime in Ibiza

Set on Ibiza’s quiet north-east coast, the little village of Es Figueral is a world away from the tourist hotspots of San Antonio and Ibiza Town. The beach is regarded as one of the best on the island, thanks to a cookie-coloured ribbon of sand lapped by the calm clear waters of the Med. Since it’s tucked away, the whole place tends to stay pretty quiet, so you won’t have any trouble claiming your own bit of beach.

Kayaking and paddle-boarding

Take a break from sunbathing by getting your teeth into some watersports. You’ll find the complete menu here, with everything from water-skis and paddleboards to banana boats and kayaks on offer. The beach is a favourite with walkers, too – the craggy hills which back it make for great strolling territory.

Not far from a party

Away from the coast, things are pretty low-key in Es Figueral. There are a couple of restaurants and bars along the main street, but that’s about as lively as it gets. To sample the island’s legendary nightlife, you’ll need to head further south to San Antonio or Ibiza Town. Both are both less than a half-hour drive away and boast world-famous nightclubs, 24/7 drinking spots, and foam parties that last from dusk ‘til dawn.
