Verona holidays
The home of Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers, Verona's also famous for its open-air markets and Piazza Bra, the Verona Opera and Juliet's balcony.
In fair Verona
This romantic city is easy to explore on foot, winding through secretive streets, colourful buildings and medieval architecture. The Roman amphitheatre holds 14,000 and sits in the beautiful and bustling Piazza Bra. The amphitheatre still holds concerts throughout the summer season, and a night at the opera is highly recommended, whether you’re staying here or on nearby Lake Garda.
Historic beauty
Much like the feuding families of Shakespeare’s play, Verona was partially moulded by the unforgiving Scaligeri clan who once ruled the city. Their tombs still rest at the Arche Scaligeri, as a reminder of Verona’s fraught past. Today the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, acknowledged for its medieval and Renaissance architecture, and for its beautiful bridges and parks.
