Val di Fassa, Italy

With its authentic alpine villages and dramatic Dolomite scenery, holidays to Val di Fassa serve up natural beauty with a dash of local culture.

Valley villages with mountain views

Val di Fassa’s your picture perfect alpine setting. Seven different villages are dotted along the valley, and wherever you stay, you can look forward to doorstep views of pine forests and rocky mountain peaks. Next-door neighbours, Canazei and Campitello are the biggest of the bunch – filled with coffee spots and craft shops, they’re the perfect places for café hopping and souvenir shopping. Or for a little pampering Pozza di Fassa’s your pick, with its thermal hot springs and luxurious spas.

Step out into nature

There’s no shortage of trails to explore here – and with the UNESCO-protected Dolomites all around, you know the views are going to be extra special. Gentle paths link up the different villages, so you can sip a morning coffee in one then stroll to the next for a spot of lunch. The Val Duron valley near a Campitello is a shoo-in if you’re after a leisurely walk with wow-worthy views. Or for summit scenery without breaking a sweat, take the cable car up to the Sass Pordoi plateau to snap pics of more peaks than you can count.

Local traditions and tasty treats

Ladin culture is front and centre everywhere you go here, from traditional clothes and crafts to local food – they even have their own language that’s over 1,000 years old. In restaurants, Italian pasta and polenta dishes share the menu with alpine faves like dumpling stews and strudel. And when it comes to keepsakes, you’ll definitely want to save some suitcase space for a carved wooden trinket or two. If you’re eager to learn more, swing by the Ladin Museum Fassa in Pozza di Fassa to discover the story of the place, from Neolithic times to now.

Good to know

There won’t be a rep based in your resort, but a rep will meet you at the airport when you arrive and get you on your way. If you’ve got any questions during your holiday, you can call our 24/7 TUI Service Centre at any time.
