Giardini Naxos holidays
Jump to sections
All of the classic Italian pastimes line up on holidays to Giardini Naxos, from sunbathing and waterfront dining to designer shopping.
Postcard-pretty setting
Giardini Naxos is set on the rocky east side of Sicily, five kilometres south of the Medieval town of Taormina. The town has grown from a sleepy fishing village into a popular resort, thanks to its spectacular location, in a sweeping bay overlooked by Mount Etna.
Days at the beach
Giardini Naxos’ main beach is made up of sand and pebbles, and split into two. There’s a free area where you can use sunbeds, umbrellas and pedalos, and then there’s a lido area you can pay to use. Alternatively, head for the man-made beach in the Recanati area of town. This purpose-built sandy stretch is the place to be for watersports enthusiasts.
The town’s make-up
Giardini Naxos has four main areas. The old town's where you’ll find treasure trove antique shops and designer boutiques, and the harbour's the place to go for cafés and seafood restaurants. Head to the promenade for the best nightlife, and check out the Recanati neighbourhood for a lively atmosphere – it comes with a funfair for little ones and a string of open-air discos.
