You’ll find yourself in a bit of a celebrity party playground on Porto Cervo holidays. This luxury seaside resort is set in the heart of Costa Smeralda, and it comes with flawless beaches, a glamorous marina and plenty of fine-dining spots. Not to mention, as you might expect on Sardinia holidays, it’s right by mesmerising waters in every shade of blue.
If you look into Porto Cervo’s history, you’ll find ties to one of the world’s richest men – Prince Karim Aga Khan. His story has 1950s origins, and it cemented the area as a playground for A-listers and jet setters. He recognised the resort’s beauty, and after a 1960s development period, it became the go-to luxury Sardinia spot for celeb crowds. International celebrities from Rihanna to Bradley Cooper have visited.
The Porto Cervo scenery loves the limelight – you can lap up views of gentle hills, tiny islets and Caribbean-style beaches with spotless talcum powder-like sands. An aqua-marine lagoon with eye-popping blue waters makes it popular for snorkelling, too. Some must-see spots on Costa Smeralda’s outstandingly beautiful coast are Spiaggia del Principe, Spiaggia del Grande and Piccolo Pevero.
Glamorous stays in Porto Cervo may be all the rage with celebrities, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get in on the action, too. There are places to stay that offer affordable luxury, and between designer-label boutiques, fine-dining restaurants and glitzy bars, there are some affordable Italian pizza restaurants and laidback marina shopping spots.
