Costa Navarino holidays

Voidokilia beach, Messinia, Greece

Holidays to Costa Navarino are all about sunbathing on unspoilt beaches, learning to cook with the locals, and climbing ancient ruins.

An exclusive spot

Costa Navarino is a brand-new, up-and-coming resort on the west coast of Greece’s Messinia region. Other than a sprinkling of shiny hotels and scenic ancient ruins, the area is almost completely untouched. And the hotels that are here put luxury living in the spotlight – so it’s the ideal place to wind down, get back to nature, and treat yourself to some pampering.

Ancient ruins

There’s no shortage of history in Costa Navarino. Within a two-hour drive, you’ll find no less than 15 ancient sites, including four with the UNESCO stamp of approval. The closest is Nestor’s Palace – an easy 10-minute drive – which even had a starring role in Homer’s Odyssey. Further on but worth the journey is the temple complex of Olympia, which was the venue for the first ever Olympic games.

Going for golf

If you’re into golf, you’re in luck here. Costa Navarino lays claim to two impressive courses. The hilly Dunes Course and the by-the-sea Bay Course blend effortlessly into the area’s landscape. They each offer up 18 challenging holes, alongside picturesque views, and were designed by golfing pros.

Outdoor adventures

Costa Navarino’s geography makes it a dream come true for outdoorsy types. You can hop on a boat and sail to the island of Proti, which is a big hit with rock climbers. The clarity of the Messinian Sea, meanwhile, makes it ideal for a bit of snorkelling or scuba diving, and you can even swim your way around a sunken village.
