Kriopigi holidays
Jump to sections
Holidays to Kriopigi take you to an old-fashioned Greek village, away from the noise and bustle. Here you'll find a main strip dotted with shops and tavernas, plus a golden-sand beach.
A taste of real Greece
This pretty old village perches on a hillside near Kalithea, on northern Greece’s Kassandra peninsula. It’s best known for its sandy beach, though it’s also bagged the best of the countryside, being surrounded by woodland and olive groves. There’s a cool spring – the krio pigi that gives the town its name – together with a quaint town square and an ancient amphitheatre.
A beach beauty
Kriopigi’s star attraction is its sandy beach. It’s a double Blue Flag winner, flanked by pretty, pine-clad hills. The southern end is the widest, but if you’re looking for a quiet spot, there are smaller, quieter coves to discover. You’ve got loungers and umbrellas to rent, while the cafés and tavernas are all within easy strolling distance.
Daytrips to Thessaloniki
You’re 90 kilometres from Thessaloniki, Greece’s second-biggest city. It’s a modern, cosmopolitan place, yet its history goes back some 2,300 years. The place has so many Byzantine monuments it’s considered an open-air museum. There are 5th-century churches to explore, or you can check out the Ottoman architecture in the Old City.
