Our late deals to San Stefanos will land you in this north-west corner of Corfu in no time.
San Stefanos Beach
San Stefanos features one of the biggest scoops of sand in Corfu. It was just a small fishing harbour back in the Fifties, but these days sunloungers, tavernas and watersports are all in good supply. Many villagers still make a living by fishing, though — the catch of the day ends up on the menus of the village tavernas.
The Diapontian Islands
The Diapontian Islands freckle the Ionian Sea west of San Stefanos, secreting away caves, tiny beaches and pint-sized pine forests. The three islands that are lived-in are peaceful one-horse towns with more olive trees than people. You can explore the islands by ferry or book a charter boat.
Corfu Town
The island capital, Corfu Town, is an hour’s drive away from San Stefanos. Make sure to visit the twin fortresses — they were built by the Venetians to protect the postcard-pretty city from the invading Ottoman Empire.
