This purpose‑built resort is designed around its biggest asset – a patchwork of sandy beaches that lines the rugged shoreline and doubles as a backdrop for scenic coastal walks. The compact main street makes it easy to navigate, with lively bars, al fresco restaurants and cafés all rubbing shoulders. It’s also worth climbing the 170 steps up to Ilias Church, for the panoramic views that stretch across the whole coastline. Protaras is also only a 10-minute taxi ride to Ayia Napa’s nightclubs if you want something more lively in the evening.
