St Felix holidays
Jump to sections
Holidays to St Felix are a back-to-nature affair – think paper-white beaches and forest-cloaked waterfalls.
A South Coast star
St Felix is pinned to Mauritius’ south coast, between the resorts of Souillac and Bel Ombre. It’s got a real away-from-it-all feel, owing to its lack of big hotels. But with one of the region’s best beaches under its belt, a few natural beauty spots on the doorstep and a pair of restaurant-and-shop-filled resorts down the road, you’ll have everything you need for a peaceful holiday here.
Quiet beaches
The beaches in this neck of the woods are as peaceful as they come – the milk-white strips of sand are backed by little more than trees and the odd hotel. St Felix Public Beach is the most popular sunbathing spot. It comes complete with a snack bar, a palm-studded picnic area and a couple of outdoor sports courts. If you fancy getting out on the water, you can join a deep-sea fishing trip or hire a jet-ski.
This way to the waterfalls
You won’t have to venture far to see some of Mauritius’ beauty spots. Rochester Falls and Leon Falls are just a short drive away – both are surrounded by pea-green jungle. Drive 20 minutes west, and you’ll end up near one of the island’s most famous natural wonders – the so-called ‘underwater waterfall’. You can only see this optical illusion from above, so make sure you book a short flight over the lagoon.
