if you like to play golf, it's ok
The only plus of this hotel in our opinion is the golf, there rest of the hotel is really not a 5 star resort that you would expect. Staff needs training, rooms needs looking at, food is not hot and beach needs cleaning. Will we be back? Really not sure at the moment, we might consider it if the tripadvisor reviews will show the improvement.More

Good value for money
We booked a last minute break to escape the British weather. We chose this adults only hotel to ensure that we also had peace and quiet for our week away. We arrived late in the evening, there was another couple with us on our airport transfer. We greeted with a soft drink and given paperwork to complete. We were then offered to eat on the restaurant which they had kept open for us, this was a nice touch. After something small my husband and I wanted to go to the room and get some sleep. We were advised that we had to wait for all new arrivals and have a tour before this could happen. I found this a little bizarre and as seasoned travellers this is the first time we had experienced this especially given that the resort is small. We reached our room eventually as it was in the ground floor I asked to be moved as it had gardens and I always get bitten by bugs. I had to stand my ground and leave the room in order for this to happen. It wasn't the best start given the fact that the hotel was not at capacity. Our second room was the opposite side with a view over the golf course. The room was a really good size, comfortable and very clean. The staff in the hotel were second to none and just couldn't do enough for you. They really wanted you to have the best stay and take customer relations very seriously. They realise how important tourism is to their country. The pool boy was superb and very genuine, from carrying your bag, making up your sunbed and cleaning sunglasses. Amazing service. Likewise the bar man got to know what you were drinking and ensured that your glass was never empty. What topped the service was them actually cooking for me, they have a guest relations lady that asks how your stay is, anything else they can do etc....my husband explained that I am a fussy eater and as a consequence they made me exactly what I liked. That really was going the extra mile, which I appreciated. The food in the Indian restaurant was to die for with my husband comparing it to the Cinnamon Kitchen in London. Overall the hotel was lovely if you want a quiet week away in the sun with great service. However there is not a lot to do of an evening even though there is some entertainment provided by the hotel. Having a great Holiday!!! We have been here many times before, and every time the people here surprise us. Either with the excellent vegetarian food from the cooks (especially chef George who makes the most delicious vegetarian meals, and chef Mahmoud at the evening dinner), or with the great support and entertainment from kimo at the gym and pool area. If you want to play darts, do aqua gym or just have a calm conversation, he is there for you. Yahia and the other pool person will do literally everything to make sure you have a relaxing time from cleaning your sunglasses to bringing refreshing mint towels. And offcourse who can forget the excellent service from the pool waiters and people behind the bar. (Mohammed and his colleagues do a great job). During the evening there is a nice relaxing atmosphere at the bar and the people there are great as well. The rooms are big and clean thanks to the housekeeping. And also thank you to the front desk for all the support. Only the wifi let's the hotel down a little, it is free but really slow. They do have a faster paying option. We will definitely come back here. More
In Steigenberger Makadi Hotel we spent 7 perfect days at the end of the September. And I would like to say big thanks to all staff of this wonderful place! If we will speak about rooms, interier and territory - everything is amazing, clean and cozy. Food was also really delicious and beautiful! Red sea and beach delighted us! And what particularly pleased us so much is the animation team. Special thanks to Kimo for the amazing mood during our acations!More
