It’s all about choice with TUI River Cruises. All five of our ships are set up for laidback lunches, romantic dinners and nights spent watching live music.
Our menus are inspired by seasonal produce in our many cruise destinations, with lots of the ingredients sourced locally where possible. And on the drinks front, you’ve got a variety of beers and handpicked wines to choose from.
TUI Isla, TUI Maya and TUI Skyla all double up on restaurants and bars. At mealtimes, there’s the elegant Verdastro restaurant and our more casual Bistro. There are ever-changing menus, with plenty of local dishes to try. And for drinks, make your way to either the Observatory, which comes with panoramic widescreen windows, or the Club Lounge, where coffees and cocktails are the headliners.
On TUI Al Horeya, meanwhile, there’s the main restaurant, Lazeeza, plus an al fresco dining area on the top deck called Felluca, which is open for light bites at lunchtime and evening meals. There’s tea, coffee and cake served up here every afternoon, as well. And for evening drinks, you can head to the Observatory Lounge, where nightly entertainment takes place.
As for TUI Bahareya, the main restaurant switches from a buffet set-up at breakfast to à la carte menus for lunch and dinner, with a focus on local dishes. You can also grab lunches on the go from the bar on the top deck, and al fresco dining is available in the evenings. The Observatory Lounge, meanwhile, is where the nightly entertainment takes place.
We’re all about flexibility, so there are no set dining times on our ships – you can sit down to eat any time during service.
What’s the food & drink like on our European cruises?
Take a closer look at the dining options available on TUI Isla, TUI Skyla and TUI Maya.
European cruises
Both of our restaurants plate up a mix of buffet and à la carte options on TUI Isla, TUI Skyla and TUI Maya, while drinks are taken care of in our two bars – the Observatory and the Club Lounge.
Egypt cruises
It’s an All Inclusive setup on TUI Al Horeya, so all your food and drink’s part of the package at the two bars, the main restaurant and the al fresco dining area.
Full Board or All Inclusive?
Full Board
TUI Isla, TUI Maya and TUI Skyla are Full Board Plus as standard, which means you get tea, coffee, soft drinks, wine or beer with meals. There’s the option of house white, red, or rose wine at lunch and dinner, or you can try the specially selected wine from the region at dinnertime. Any other drinks need to be paid for, or you can upgrade to All Inclusive.
All Inclusive
TUI Al Horeya and TUI Bahareya are All Inclusive as standard, so all of your food and drink is part of the package. If you’re sailing on any of our other ships, going All Inclusive means you’ll get a wider selection of drinks included on your cruise, like draft beers, branded spirits, cocktails and premium Lavazza coffee. For select cabins, your minibar will be part of the package, too. You can add All Inclusive when booking your TUI River Cruises sailing, or after you’ve booked by calling 0203 451 2688. You can also upgrade at Reception during your holiday. Upgrades are per cabin, not per guest.
FAQs
What’s the dress code onboard?
There is a dress code onboard our TUI River Cruises sailings – it’s smart-casual. During the day, the rules are quite relaxed, however beachwear can’t be worn in the restaurants. In the evenings, the dress code is smarter. Men will need to wear long trousers or smart tailored shorts, a shirt or polo shirt and closed shoes. There's the opportunity to get dressed up for our six-course gala dinner on sailings of five nights or more, but there's no requirement to do so.
Are there set dining times?
No – all our food and drink venues offer flexible dining times, so you’re free to dine at your own pace during service.
Are there tea and coffee-making facilities?
Yes. Make yourself a cuppa in the self-service station in the atrium, or in your cabin – each one has tea and coffee-making facilities.
Are dietary requirements catered for?
Yes. Vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free and diabetic-friendly meals are available on request in both of our restaurants. If you have a dietary requirement, please let our Customer Welfare Team know on 0203 451 2688 when booking your trip. Then, once you're onboard, you can meet with the Maître D' to discuss your requirements further.
Can you still use All Inclusive on the last day of the cruise?
Yes. All Inclusive is available up until you leave the ship to go home.
What are the All Inclusive times?
Our All Inclusive package is available from 10am until midnight every day of your TUI River Cruise.
Is there a gala dinner?
We don't have a formal night on TUI River Cruises. However, you’re welcome to get all dressed up for our gala dinner, which takes place once per cruise on sailings of five nights or more. There’s no requirement to do so, though, and you’re welcome to still go smart-casual.
