Best time to go to San Francisco
Unlike much of the west coast, San Francisco’s a city of seasons. It might come as a surprise that summer’s not always the warmest time of year. Autumn – or fall – temperatures hover in the mid-20s, from September to November. The summer months of June through August are a little cooler, with an average of 19°C. This is when the city’s trademark fog can make an appearance, too, although this usually shifts by the afternoon. Winter sees the mercury hang around the 10°C mark – it’s also the rainiest season. Whichever month you pick, make sure to pack a light jacket or full-length trousers, as the evenings are generally cooler.
