Basic functional accommodation in NYC

Needed a hotel with room fridges for family. It took care of our basic needs. During our stay one of the elevators was out of service. This made our poor room location on the 1st floor near the elevators a blessing in disguise, which we tolerated well enough for 4 nights, especially with noisy front desk clerk at night. Otherwise thought the price was too expensive for this extended stay type of accommodation.

One elevator didn’t work for all of my nearly week stay, so wasted s lot of time waiting its arrival. I paid for a “room with a view “. There’s not much of a view, but is on a high floor. No housekeeping or cleaning of room despite their promise that my room would be cleaned daily because I’m an IHG member. Front desk staff were very helpful and obliging. Gave me a late checkout. Good facilities in kitchenette, but the cooking smell goes to corridors. So no cleaning policy makes the place a little smelly. Good position although expensive ($400)! a night.
Needs an upgrade

Check in folks were excellent. Friendly and efficient. View from high floors is great. Room needs upgrading. Just feels old. Forgot to do housekeeping, not a good sign. Elevator, one of two was out and had been for a while. There are too many choices in Manhattan to stay here at this time.

The location near Hells Kitchen and 8th Avenue etc is great, some lovely eateries etc nearby However the hotel needs a major upgrade , with weak showers broken appliances and holes in the curtains. Front desk staff were either rude or lovely, seemed no continuity in terms of customer service.
Poor quality. Avoid breakfast. Needs a lot of work

The building has 6 rooms on a floor and over 25 floors. It had only one lift working for half my stay. Meaning it took fifteen minutes at times to get in or out. Breakfast is an external butler service which is poor 3 choices to choose from. You can’t order before 7am despite what reception tell you. When you do order it takes an ages to come I gave up as I was missing 8am meetings. The rooms are dated. The show is reasonably powerful. But there are no mod cons and not even a fire blanket for the electric rings in the room. The TV is ancient and there isn’t anywhere to put a suite case. Room cleaning doesn’t seem to occur during your stay I have done 5 days so far. When I checked in I was told I needed to change rooms after the first night and to leave my stuff with reception the following day until my room was available. The room I had was on the ground floor it had no natural light. It smelt. It was old he no chair in it for the desk. I then found out the room they had put me in was actually the bag store for people to leave bags as when I got my bag back to recheck in it came from this room which had 20 or 30 bags in it. The light switches don’t all work in my room. Could do a lot better. For the price it is a rip off.
