Pool party season in Las Vegas has arrived with a huge splash. And, what could be better than baking sunshine, pools, cocktails, and some of the world’s best DJs all in one fabulous venue?
If you’re Vegas-bound, or thinking about heading stateside, ticking off one of Sin City’s infamous pool parties is a must. Why? Because Vegas does pool parties in the only way it knows how – completely OTT. There’s Grecian-themed grape-guzzling soirées, LBGT Pride parties and Ibiza-like raves to choose from. Not to mention champagne spray guns just about everywhere.
The weather in Vegas is heating up to a toasty 35 degree average every day, so here’s where you can cool down and party on at the same time....
The MGM has ‘grand’ in its name for a reason. There’s everything you could want or need in this super-sized complex, including 15 restaurants, a concert venue, a top golf range and four pools. And, Wet Republic, the hotel’s pool party, doesn’t disappoint either. It’s held on a 54,000-square-foot sun terrace which boasts a huge main pool, six VIP dipping pools, a lazy river ride and an open-air bar and lounge.
The pool parties are on five days a week, every Monday, Thursday and Friday, with special DJ sets at the weekend. Some of the best DJs in the world play here, including Calvin Harris, Tiesto and Steve Aoki. You can switch between dancing in waist-high water or lounging on a cabana bed, cocktail in hand. Because the pools are all filled with saltwater, it’s kinder to your skin than chlorine, so you can spend all day there. After it closes, you can take the party to the five-floor Hakkasan nightclub in the hotel, which has been voted one of the best in the world.

Luxor Las Vegas has put on an LGBT pool party every Sunday throughout the season for the last eight years – and this is one of the most popular events in Sin City. It’s hosted by J. Son and resident DJ Matt Lucio. Just to make it more interesting, there are themed parties every week including special celebrations for Memorial Day weekend, Las Vegas Pride, and even Father’s Day, with a unique event called Bring your Dad to the pool. There are also special offers on food, drinks and poolside cabanas every week, so keep an eye on the website before you book your trip. Best of all, entry is usually half price if you’re staying at the Luxor Las Vegas, so if you make this hotel your base for your holiday, you can enjoy endless buffets and a giant pyramid outside your door, too.

If your Vegas holiday is all about partying, The Palms Casino Resort is just about one of the best places to stay. This iconic casino is located just off the strip, and features a dedicated party pool, a rooftop bar, a club and concert venue. Every Friday, the hotel hosts a ‘Ditch Fridays’ pool party featuring DJs, performers, champagne spray guns, and an interactive game garden with a PlayStation and Xbox. Admission is free before noon for hotel guests and for ladies. Plus, lounge chairs are first come, first served – so get in there quick to bag your perfect spot. Although the Friday parties are wild, the rest of the time the pool area is (fairly) calm, so you’ll get the ideal balance of partying and chill time here.

This Grecian-themed venue exudes luxury with its huge stone columns, mosaic tiling, golden statues and marble exteriors. And, the pool parties are equally sophisticated if you fancy a more upmarket venue for your water-based soirée. The vibe here is distinctly chilled-out, but Resident DJ Duane King spins a set on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to liven things up, and the Venus Pool Club is also partial to the odd celeb visitor, so you might just be rubbing shoulders with the stars. Opt for one of the poolside lounges and you’ll be able to spend the day as a Greek Goddess too, with frozen fruit to nibble on, cold towels and hourly cool-downs with a bottle of Evian. Don’t miss the famous mojito here – all fruity flavours are on the menu, including frozen raspberry, pineapple and mango.

Having opened in 2014, the Foxtail Pool Club at the SLS Las Vegas Hotel and Casino is fairly new to the pool party scene, but it’s already proving popular. The brand new décor is sleek and stylish, and you’ll get a balance of relaxed vibes and fun here, thanks to the wide space that the club occupies, with plenty of room around the pool, and a choice of VIP cabanas and daybeds. There’s a stage where DJs perform with a dance floor in front, and amazing 3D projections to entertain you, too. Plus, there’s the Foxtail Nightclub next door where you can carry on the party when day turns into night.

Daylight Beach Club at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Spa was designed to cater to daytime clubbers, and its stylish décor mirrors Ushuaia in Ibiza too. So if you’re a fan of the Balearic party spot, consider swapping it for a stateside soirée of epic proportions.
The spacious venue boasts a long cabana-dotted pool, an elevated stage you can see from anywhere in the arena, and six giant LED screens. The pool parties take place every Thursday to Sunday, and big household names and DJ acts flock here every summer. Tyga (of Kylie Jenner fame) and Bassjackers are regulars, and 2017’s line-up also includes T-Pain, Jerzy and Ice Cube. If you love being centre of the action and amongst loads of fellow clubbers, this is the place to be.

Move over Walt Disney World, the Encore Beach Club in Vegas has been dubbed the ‘happiest place on earth’ according to revelers and the prestigious Las Vegas Nightclub Awards. It has everything from super-stylish décor to top DJ’s, and even a huge choice of places to lounge – there’s couches, daybeds, cabanas and even lily pads that you can take your pick from. On Thursdays the venue plays host to a special event called Thursday Nightswim, and past performers have included Avicii, David Guetta, Major Lazer and Zedd – so you can expect the line-up to be no less than amazing.
Another unique feature at this place is the gaming pavilion at the back – yep, when you need a break from partying in the pool, you can try your luck on the slot machines instead.
