Introducing Goa

Beach resorts like Baga and Candolim set the tone in North Goa. Sand, coconut groves and fish shacks give way to full moon parties and night markets in the evenings. But there’s still a hint of ancient wonder courtesy of the Buddhist temples squirrelled away among the forest. South Goa is another story altogether. Snail-paced Portuguese villages and long, barely-touched beaches characterise this southern tip of the state.

When it comes to things to do in India, families are spoiled for choice. There’s a myriad of ways to view the country — from a rickshaw shopping trip in Margao to a jeep safari through protected Bengal tiger territory. For a real adventure, fly to Delhi or Agra for the day. The former city stars the 17th-century Red Fort, while the latter is home to the grand Taj Mahal.
