Holidays to Bambolim deliver a mix of golden beaches and blink-and-you'll-miss-it wildlife.
A beach haven
Bambolim’s got the sun, sand and sea combination sorted – the beach is a golden colour, and stretches out for around a kilometre. Plus, the water’s ideal for swimming – the waves are gentle, and the sand slopes gently into the water.
Party-hard neighbours
In nearby Calangute, it’s all about lazy days and wild nights. Think buzzing beachfront bars, adrenaline-filled watersports and a soundtrack of whirring tuk tuks. The beach is a top spot for surfing, too. Hop in a taxi, and you can be in the thick of it in less than half an hour.
Waterfalls and wildlife
This part of Goa is packed to the rafters with natural beauty. An hour and a half drive away is the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary, a 200-square-kilometre conservation area that’s regarded as a Global Biodiversity Hotspot. It focuses on protecting rare animals like Bengal tigers, Indian pangolins, and the endangered slender loris. This area is also famous for its waterfalls, like the 143-metre-high Vazra Falls. Home to critically endangered long-billed vultures, these falls are an iconic Goan sight.
