A pleasant surprise

It’s fair to say after reading some of the reviews in more detail I was panicking about staying here but I have been nothing but happy with our apartment. We stayed in the block with late 130s-early 140s right by reception. Really handy for the pool, the bar and the restaurant. Baby pool is brilliant size and location for our 2y/o and bigger pool great to. You get what you pay for so basic but clean, serviced every few days with fresh towels and a friendly environment. 2 super markets straight over the road, plenty of decent (family oriented) places to eat in the trip advisor top 10. This was our first family holiday and for a week in the sun around a nice pool I would recommend to other families with young children.
Friendly staff and clean apartments

The apartments are old style but very spacious. They contained everything you need. Nothing was too much trouble. The apartments surround a lovely warm pool and have plenty of loungers available. The location is near to supermarkets, bars and restaurants (Jimmy Hills being the nearest which also had free entertainment). There is no air con in apartments, but we hired fans. (Although at end of week we found booklet In room offering hire for many items, like strollers, mobility scooters and air conditioning. !!) Would definitely return to these apartments,

After a bumpy start to our holiday (plane diverted to Stansted) And a 1hr transfer. Myself, husband and two children (7&2) stayed in number 210, first floor apartment, overlooking to a generous sized pool and baby pool. On arrival the receptionist greeted us warmly. We had to pay tourist tax and also pay for the safe in our room, roughly 60euro for both. On entering our room it was clean. It was basic but did the job. Unfortunately there was a lack of handsoap, shampoos, conditioners and even a drop of milk or tea or coffee. Everywhere I have stayed previously have supplied these for on arrival. To our disappointment our beds and towels were only changed once during a 7 night stay. We also had many pet ants during our stay. The bed in the bedroom was extremely uncomfortable, myself had to sleep on the pull out bed. The rooms were VERY hot and again to our disappointment no air con and fans had to be hired. Wifi was also an extra. The bar staff were lovely, very helpful and accommodating. There is a games room and a bouncy castle which gets hot in the sun! The pool is lovely and clean alongside the baby pool. Perfect temperatures. Plenty of uncomfortable plastic sunloungers and umbrellas and certainly no problem with getting one. If you are looking for quiet evenings in your apartments, look elsewhere. Jimmy Hills is situated next door which provides evening entertainment until early hours. There are supermarkets just across the road from the apartments, open from 8am til late. Plenty of resturants and bars around. Not really any beaches sadly just small coves, beautiful though. Ciutadella is a short bus ride away and is a lovely city. It is only one bus journey (reception told us two buses). For what we paid to stay at Vista Picas certainly came across as overpriced. The kids had a ball but we won't be returning.
Slightly disappointing accomodation and facilities

First time back in Cala'n Forcat area after many years, this time round a surprise to hook up with son and grandkids so accomodation not of our choosing. Firstly accomodation is fairly central to resort area and is adjacent to Jimmy Hill Square which is a complex of bars with central stage for evening entertainment.....audible throughout the night and noise is a factor when staying here, we were in 220 and caught most of it but that said we werent overly distracted but for those looking for "quiet" break perhaps not the best loaction. The main strip on Los Delfines is a couple of minutes away with waterpark say 10 mins and some local beaches close by, the best for us being Cala'n Brut (20 min walk), Cala'n Forcat (a must see complex of coves, 10-15 mins) and Playa Piques (10 mins). Accomodation itself was basic with kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom and living area with pullout sofa/bed and balcony. There is no aircon and fans had to be hired which to be honest I find a little annoying as they are a must through peak summer months in particular...we perservered but found sleeping difficult in temps of 28-30°c at night. Towels were provided but only changes every 3rd day or so and we did not have bedding changed or made once during our 5 day stay. After days at beach, pool with suncreme, sand and everything else I personally think towels should be every 2nd day at worst and bedding similar. There was an ironing board and iron provided along with TV, microwave, kettle etc., Safe in rooms was available for a charge. Wifi only available in bar/reception area and again for a charge (15 Euro for week, 1 Device). Tourist tax also payable on arrival, we paid 22 Euro for 5 night stay ( for 2 people). Reception was a haven at times (aircon) but bar area did not appesr to benefit from same. Fairly basic dining area (in and out) with basic breakfast menu and snacks, tapas ec. Other food available on request (Paella) and on whole quality of snacks and meals wasnt too bad although we tended to eat out mostly. Bar staff extremely good and friendly, Pool was decent enough in terms of size and cleanliness with small baby pool attached....fairly warm on entry, no cold shock factor but in temps of 34°c day in day out and warm evenings, still a welcome feeling! Other items of note on site include small (basic) play area for kids on grassy area between apartment blocks (hardly ever seen in use), small games area near bar with handful of machines (airhockey/pool), small bouncy next to bar and games area (normally in full sun) Supermarkets and shops immediatley across road, bust stop too for trips out. Having stayed in several apartment complexes in the area over the years I would rate others more highly, however, a few tweaks here and there (aircon or free fan, improved laundry service) and it would get a better rating.
Beautiful, traditional apartments

We have just returned from our holiday at the Vista Picas apartments, we had a 2 bedroom apartment, lovely layout with all apartments situated around a huge pool! The only place I have visited where there is an abundance of pool loungers! Very friendly staff, beautiful landscaped gardens. The only drawback was no air conditioning! We were fortunate that we were on the first floor so we could sleep with doors open, but on the ground floor, especially if you have kids, you would have to keep all doors locked! Fans are available at a cost, but to be honest they made an awful lot of noise, but didn’t do much! We did really struggle sleeping and after a long day out and about, there was no getting away from the heat apart from a lot of cold showers!
