You get a big pool and a choice of bars at this hotel, which is just a stone’s throw from a pretty beach.
This hillside complex overlooks the sea. On top of this, it flaunts the full round-up of bars, with everything from an English pub to a laid-back piano bar serving cocktails. For meals, there's a buffet restaurant offering live show cooking.
It’s less than a five-minute walk to the crescent-shaped, sandy beach – there’s a walkway opposite the hotel that’ll take you straight there. And it’s not much further to restaurants and bars.

We booked by Thomsons.. 4* Platinum they said... I have never stayed in such a depressingly dull and dated room. I Immediately on seeing the room we had been given, asked to change and upgrade room.. receptionist made a half hearted twiddle with PC and state nothing available.. Most things pretty much followed same trend... substandard. Food...service. More
Lovely hotel in a great position, wonderful food with lots of choice. Sunbeds are plentiful and pool for children kept very clean. We had a sea view room at the front overlooking the pool, worth paying for,the views are Amazing. The rooms have safe, hairdryer and kettles. The shower was fantastic and COMFY beds. Staff could not do enough for us,all public rooms and lounges, reception etc. Very clean Stylish with free wifi and newspapers, everyday. Who are all the negative reviewers, get a life. This hotel is very good value for money The more expensive hotels in the bay,did not have as good a position for busses, walks. Finally the beach is so amazing especially for young families, life guards on duty, and First aid stations. So clean and well looked after. Wonderful marina feed the ducks when You go. Reasonable Hotel and Great Position
We stopped here at the end of October, the last week of the season in fact. Given some of the reviews I was a little concerned but overall we enjoyed the stay. We were booked in for a "garden" facing room but having seen some of the reviews that suggested the garden was a cliff I asked for a sea facing room, which we were given without any extra charge, the receptionist explained that it was the end of the season and that they would do it as a complimentary upgrade. Good move as we had a nice view over the front of the hotel. Room was good but as commented on before the balconies are tiny and the bathrooms need a refresh but we had plenty of hot water and the weather to enjoy the balcony so it was good. Food in the restaurant was on the good side of OK, as with all buffets you need to pick carefully for your own preferences and we always found enough good stuff for us. Some of the fish was very good and the show cooking elements were always worth a look at. Breakfast was good with enough choice but typical European plastic bacon! Omelettes were very nice if you got them freshly made. Whilst the pool area looked nice and uncrowded we spent most of our ligging time on either the main beach 2 minutes walk away or on the other two beaches a scenic walk away, one was about 1/2 hour and the other 3/4 hour, given the nice weather it was a pleasant walk, in peak season temperatures not so sure. Both walks had stunning views of this nice part of the Menorcan coast. As it was the end of the season lots of the bars and restaurants were shut but enough to keep us amused for a quite half term holiday. Would probably come back to Cala Galdana again, might upgrade the hotel a little but wouldn't want to come at peak of season.More
Hotel cala galdana
Just returned from hotel galdana in menorca with Thomson holidays. Airport transfer only 30 minutes, check in was fast, and friendly. Food at hotel is buffet style, good choice for breakfast and dinner. Rooms were very nice and are cleaned every day, bathroom had a good shower and we had plenty of towels. Air con was good. The hotel has a nice modern feel to it, there is entertainment on every night with good quality acts. The seating areas downstairs have waiter service to order drinks, prices not too expensive for a holiday resort, ie:€4 for a glass of wine. The hotel request a certain dress code for dinner and most people adhere to it. The outdoor pool area looks very nice, but we never used it as there is a beautiful beach 2 minutes away. Hotel has a spa, which again we never used but it was popular with other guests. Hotel staff were friendly and hardworking. The resort of Cala Galdana is lovely, the beach is a cove surrounded by pine trees which we used for shade! I swam in the sea late October and the temperature was fine. Cala Galdana was shutting down whilst we were there, so very limited places to go at night, I think there may have been 4 restaurants open and 2 bars and these were very quiet, most people go to the hotel in the evening to watch the entertainment. The upside of late October is that the beach wasn’t busy during our stay. We were lucky with the weather as October is the rainy month. I would return to Cala Galdana and this hotel, but not in late October, maybe may or September time. More
Lovely friendly hotel
We have just returned from a week at Hotel Cala Galdana. There have been contentious comments about this hotel but we could not find fault. Our room on the top floor was comfortable and quiet, cleaned to a good standard daily, tea making facilities and a TV with some British channels. We had paid extra for a side sea view and had sunshine all day. The food in the restaurant was excellent with a good choice and a couple of Menorcan themed evenings. The restaurant staff were very efficient and friendly and we never had to wait for a table. The evening entertainment was good with a couple of tribute acts, a flamenco evening, a singing duo and a female singer. The entertainment room is fine. Bar prices were average for a hotel, not expensive. The hotel is close to all the facilities that Cala a Galdana can offer. An excellent beach with safe swimming, bars and restaurants and some nice walks. Cala Macarilla and Cala Mitjana are two lovely little bays easily reached on foot. We hired a car through Valls rent a car. A Skoda Fabia was €80 for 3 days and well worth the opportunity to see the rest of the island. Overall we had a marvellous holiday at this hotel and we will certainly return next year.More
