Portals Nous holidays have everything you could want from a Balearic seaside resort in Majorca, from soft sandy beaches to traditional Spanish markets. Beachfront tapas dining is on the cards, too, and there’s a swish side that appeals to luxury pursuits…
Portals Nous has lucked out on the location front. It’s just a 15-minute taxi ride from Palma, and a 25-minute journey from Palma Airport. It’s also right on the coast, so a scattering of satin-soft white-sand beaches are within touching distance, and there’s no shortage of tapas bars and cocktail venues. The resort’s edged by tennis clubs and the Golf Real de Bendinat course, too.
Portal Nous town centre is just a few steps away from Puerto Portals Marina. Docked super yachts decorate the shoreline, while luxury cars park up by the kerbside, and there’s a good supply of restaurants for marina-side dining. Drink spots are only a tad pricier than the ones in Portals Nous itself, but you can find affordable rooftop cocktail bars if you shop around. Speaking of, this place also has a collection of designer fashion stores, so you can splash some cash before tucking in to Michelin-starred eats.
Portals Nous is a popular choice for family holidays, despite being a celebrity-favoured resort (the likes of Rita Ora have been spotted at the nearby Mood Beach Club). That’s thanks to the bucket-and-spade beaches, beachside playgrounds and children’s restaurant menus all up for grabs along the coast. The water’s especially shallow and calm at Playa d’Oratori, making it an ideal choice for those holidaying with little ones.
