Illetas holidays
Jump to sections
Holidays to Illetas take you to a swanky village just 20 minutes from Palma. It's the perfect spot for combining a beach holiday with a bit of city action.
Majorca’s smart side
This village on Majorca’s south-west coast has earned itself a reputation as the island’s Monte Carlo, thanks to its ritzy hotels and upscale vibe. You’ll find a handful of shops and restaurants around the main street, Passeig de les Illetas, but its real USPs are its green, pine-clad hills and dramatic rocky coast. And when you want bright lights, you’re just 20 minutes' drive from the island's capital, Palma.
A chic cove
What Playa de Illetas lacks in size, it makes up for in style. This sandy cove is immaculately clean, with warm, transparent waters. And being close to the main road, you’re never far from amenities – the northern end of the sand's dotted with bars and restaurants. There’s a fancy beach club, too, where staff will bring you Champagne to your hammock.
Close to the capital
Lots of the local buses will whisk you straight to Palma, which people say looks a bit like Spain's Catalan giant, Barcelona. Like that city, it’s got its share of landmarks, such as the stunning La Seu Cathedral, which took 300 years to build. Another similar highlight is the car-free old town, or Barri Gòtic, a maze of narrow lanes that’s now home to cool cafés and quirky shops
