A beachside spot, a sleek pool scene, and a restaurant with lots of options make the Astoria Playa a great choice for couples.
Astoria Playa is just across the road from an eight-kilometre stretch of white sand. Then, there’s the good selection of restaurants within a five-minute walk. The waterside bars at Alcudia Marina, meanwhile, are a 10-minute taxi ride away.
The hotel’s inside spaces have a contemporary look, with chunky red furniture to offset the whitewashed walls. Monochrome colours, flat-screen TVs and spotlights carry on the designer feel in the bedrooms.

Best hotel we’ve stayed in
What Can I say , the hotel is no1 in alcudia for a reason it’s simply the best, The staff are the friendliest I have ever encountered on holiday always a smile and cheery hello, nothing is too much trouble for them. Also owner constantly onsite and very approachable obviously takes great pride in his hotel. We had a lovely suite on the sixth floor which had a lovely whirlpool bath, king size bed lovely and comfy , large flatscreen tv which you could connect to Netflix and also had a few English channels, which kept mrs H happy watching strictly whilst getting ready for dinner, also we had a small fridge and wine fridge which was very handy for keeping the wine chilled of an evening if sitting out on the balcony. The rooms are cleaned every day and kept spotlessly clean. Also a free safe. Food in the restaurant was excellent massive choice at breakfast and dinner , plenty of choice for every course and we never felt it got repetitive like it can sometimes. Also this is the first holiday we’ve ever had that we didn’t eat outside the hotel once that’s how good we felt it was. Must mention Antonio the chef what a star he is nothing to much trouble for him and Garcia the waiter looked after us excellently as did all the staff. Evening entertainment was the one area of the hotel that was a bit hit and miss 5 nights out 10,we were there were good the other nights were ok if you had enough wine lol. Both pool areas were excellent with large sun beds with padded mattresses and brollies, no up early at the crack of dawn here reserving beds all very relaxed , the pool bar staff were brilliant Chelsea and the other lady who’s name escapes me ( very pretty with colour in her hair. ) looked after us excellently. Now for the star of the hotel the lovely Sanaa from the day we got there she just made our stay truly lovely , she remembered our names along with all the other guests that takes some doing. Anything you asked of her was no problem she sorted out a lovely bottle of bubbly for my wife’s birthday and had it brought to our table with a violinist playing happy birthday, I can’t thank her enough for our lovely holiday , we have already booked to come back next may and can’t wait. Thank you Sanaa and all your staff for a beautiful holiday Regards Phil & MandyMore
We loved this place!
We loved everything with this place. Specially the hostess at the restaurant and the young chef and the reception staff were wonderful. The only thing missing in the hotel was a gym. We also think that the hotel of such high standard should have fresh juce for breakfast. A small cost in that context.More
Well where do I start. lovely lovely hotel. I honestly don't know where to start. we arrived early, room as expected not ready which is no issue, Pawel took our bags and off we went to start our holiday. Headed to the beach which is 5 min stroll. Monica on reception took our mobile number and kindly rang us when the room was ready, ive never had that service before. Room was lovely, faultless infact, beds a dream whole room clean which is echoed around the whole premises inside and out. Clearly a massive emphasis on quality. definitely stay half board (no all incl-they don't want drunk people) the food is lovely, best buffet style food you will have.....something for everyone and more. Truly Beautiful. fantastic wine selection to compliment such dining. subtle evening entertainment apart from the DJ night.....not really apt for the clientele. Overall a lovely hotel if you are after a chilled relaxing holiday as a couple. not a place for a fun packed world of entertainment. special mention for Pawel at reception, Monica on reception and especially Manolo in the Dining Room. All dining staff are great but Manolo stood out as a true gent. The young Gent behind the Buffet grill was always full of enthusiasm. And a special mention for Sanna the hotels glamourous host. even though we were visiting in the last week of the season her dedication to the customers was never twindling, remembering names and taking time to talk to all. Many thanks to the whole of the Astoria team. Regards Alan & Sarah. Room 333.More
First visit to Hotel Astoria Playa
My husband and I stayed at the Astoria Playa in October after friends suggested we would like it They were not wrong ! We are an elderly couple and prefer not to have a lot of steps to negotiate. The reception area was all on one level, lifts were nearby and our lovely room was close to the lift. The staff, without exception, were so kind and considerate. even to fixing my phone which was giving me problems. The restaurant was exceptionally good, a lot of the food being cooked in front of you. We were spoilt for choice. Everywhere was very clean and tidy. the beach was only a short walk from the Hotel (no hills) and we enjoyed walking in the shallow waters edge each day the weather being so warm. Like other reviewers have written, I must mention the delightful Sanna who greeted us at the entrance to the restaurant each day. she made us so welcome.. She sent a bottle of champagne up to our room as we were celebrating our 66th Wedding Anniversary. What a lovely surprise. We had a very happy week there and are certainly planning another visit. With kind regards from Mary & Don Sylvester.More
From the chilled wine at check in to the large comfortable rooms this hotel exceeded all expectations. We stated here for a week at the end of October and were delighted by the quality of all aspects of the hotel and by the standards set by staff. All staff were friendly and helpful at all times. We had a pool view room which had a large balcony and got the sun all day. The room was modern, spacious and kept spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and the large walk-in shower was brilliant. The dining room was spacious and well set out with ample space between the tables. The quality of the food was excellent and varied at both breakfast and dinner. At times there could be a bit of a queue for freshly cooked meat or fish but well worth the wait. There was a decent wine list with wine starting at 18€ a bottle. The hotel is only a few minutes from the beach and there are numerous shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants nearby. There is a Lidl supermarket about 10 minutes away which is good for the holiday basics. This is one of the best hotels we have stated in and would have no hesitation recommending it. More
