Aqua Suites Lanzarote

From start to finish this hotel was just everything you could want or need for a chilled out week in Lanzarote. Stayed here in November, after booking a very last minute holiday with my Dad. We had never been to Lanzarote before so didn’t know what to expect. The entrance and reception is clean tidy and welcoming. A glass of cava is offered to you straight away. We arrived at just gone 9pm On a Sunday, the hotel kitchen is closed at the this time but the very friendly gentleman on reception kindly advised us as to where we could grab some dinner in town only 10 minutes away. Breakfast was my favourite time in the hotel, you had endless choice, meats cheeses, fruit, pancakes, cake doughnuts, coffee, cava juice and a menu of cooked to order food, excellent and always lovely and hot by the time it got to your table! Dinner was fabulous, varied choice and completely different menu every single day, we even had a bbq one day, again all cooked to order! You can swap your evening meal for 2 restaurants in town, Emma’s cantina and Sassis, they were amongst the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten in and I’ve been all over the world! Please swap at Least once because the service you receive is great and you get a change of scenery too. I will come back to this hotel again based on the food choices alone. I think everybody who stays in the hotel will agree. Special mention to Zoran who makes best Cava sangria and also a great coffee, but he is disappointed if your order a coffee in the bar at night (little joke) and always twisted my arm to have a whisky along side it, great little bar and always put a smile on my face! My dad was over the moon when he put the Leicester game on for him too. The rooms were faultless, extremely clean, quiet and absolutely huge. Me and my dad has been searching for a hotel with either 2 rooms or twins beds but everything was becoming expensive, we absolutely dropped on with this hotel, 2 seperate bedrooms, the main room was huge and the 2nd bedroom was a great size with a built in wardrobe and ironing board etc. Bathroom was really spacious and very accessible. Me and dad booked a last minute trip to just get some winter sun never expecting to find such a gem. I could honestly keep talking about this hotel, if you have any worries about staying here then don’t, just book it before you miss out! X

The Aqua Suites lived up to its many excellent reviews and it is definitely one to which we want to return. We arrived at just before 9pm and were quickly checked in by Juan who arranged for our luggage to be taken to our room while Mandy poured us a welcoming Prosecco and escorted us to the restaurant where she explained the wide range of meal options. One novel option is to eat out at one of their two restaurants near the harbour. We ate out at Sassi’s one evening and really enjoyed it. Breakfast each day gave us a great choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, breads, pastries, cheeses, meats and a wide choice of cooked breakfasts with a daily special. The coffee was excellent. Evening meals gave a choice of 4 starters and 4 mains and these were freshly prepared. There was a good selection of desserts. You could have wine or beer with your evening meal and we were happy to sign for these extras and settle up before leaving at the end of our stay. There was also the option to swap lunch for dinner in or around the pool bar. Our room was in the second floor and included a private balcony with sun loungers, table, chairs and a large umbrella. Rooms on the first floor have an open patio area which are less private but are easily accessed from the main level. Our room (suite really) was spacious and the super king size bed was very, very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and bright with a good walk-in shower. The wardrobe was in a separate sitting room with a couch that could be opened up to make another double bed for a family stay. In the alcove between the bedroom and the bathroom was a cubby which contained a very handy fridge and the tea and coffee making equipment. A 2 litre bottle of water was provided and this was replenished daily. The air-conditioning was effective as were the black-out curtains in each room. The safe was in the cupboard in the living room and the key was available for a €20 refundable deposit. There were many things that impressed us about the Aqua Suites and make us want to return. Number one must be the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff we encountered; Mandy, Louise, Nadi, Fatima, Zoran, Sari and Juan all helped make our holiday so special. Secondly we must mention the high standards of cleanliness everywhere from house-keeping in the room to the daily maintenance of the pools and their surroundings. It was impressive and all the staff involved really seemed to enjoy working there and were a credit to the management. The WiFi was fast, free and trouble-free throughout our stay.. Other reviewers have mentioned the hotel policy of removing towels from unused sun-beds. Although this was never an issue during our stay but we believe it is a policy that many other hotels could usefully adopt to ensure that guests can enjoy a visit to the pool. And a final word for John who organised the evening entertainment. He has a great sense of humour and is brilliant with the kids. We particularly enjoyed the quiz night and the Deal or no Deal nights. Thanks John! Would we return to the Aqua Suites? Yes!
