Port des Torrent holidays give you a taste of what the Balearic Islands have to offer. This old port village is on the picturesque island of Ibiza, not far from San Antonio Town, San Antonio Bay and historical Ibiza Town.
You can forget what you know about holidays on the ‘White Island’. Unlike most of its neighbours, Port des Torrents is more about embracing a calm pace of life than seeing how many clubs you can hit in one evening. This village on Ibiza’s west coast has a tranquil Mediterranean atmosphere, thanks to traditional Spanish tavernas and seaside scenery, but it’s only 7km from San Antonio. So, you can dip your toe in San Antonio Town’s nightlife scene when you fancy it.
Port des Torrent Beach is a pretty popular place to spend sunny days, and it’s not hard to see why. This 150-metre sandy sweep comes with a Blue Flag certification, which it owes to its shallow, paddle-friendly waters and pretty crescent-shaped shoreline. Beachfront bars are on hand for tipple top-ups, too.
Port des Torrent. Head into the Ibizan countryside, and horse-riding excursions are up for grabs. Or, find one of the local spots offering mountain bike rentals, and head out on two wheels. Quad-biking trails and go-karting venues are around, too, if you’re after an adrenaline rush. Elsewhere, there’s also tennis and golf.
The 30-minute transit time to Ibiza Town makes trips to the island’s capital one of the most popular excursions in Port des Torrent. The old town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, flaunts the 14th-century Ibiza Cathedral, which stands on the site of a mosque – a nod to this place’s time under Muslim rule. Historic cobbled streets lead to a yacht-filled marina with plenty of dining options, too.
