We all loved it....a great stay
We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in Ibiza recently with our two granddaughters aged 10 & 11 All of us loved the hotel & surrounding area, Ibiza is not just a party island! The beaches are fabulous the sea clear blue & the inland & northern parts of the island should not be missed . My granddaughter Isabelle wanted to know how salt was made & there nearby was des Salines where salt is produced from seawater. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff at the Hotel led by Christina Simmelink who is an incredible asset to the Hotel Thank you Christina! We were delighted to be greeted by her having met her in February at Hard Rock Tenerife The bedroom was perfect & the view amazing. Small niggles were lack of a children’s menu & the pool not heated but overall a great holiday. The children loved the Kids Club & we are sure to be returning . More
Wedding anniversary/birthday ruined
This should have been a review of this hotel unfortunately 2 weeks before departure the hotel decided to cancel reservation as hotel was closed down for winter. I find this totally unprofessional and to be honest rather rude,as this was a surprise holiday for my wife to celebrate her birthday and also our 31st wedding anniversary. We were informed alternative accommodation was available at another hotel which we eventually accepted due to time limitations,no apology was or has been made on behalf of this hotel which I find in this day and age disgraceful. I have always respected the Hard Rock franchise and have been to 20 something cafes on my travels and that is why I was so looking forward to this stay, never again.More
Going above and beyond
We came back for the second time this year as a family (half term) based on a fantastic experience in April. Yet again, the Rock City creche was fantastic. Silvia and colleagues are so caring and genuinely remember and care for the children. We are yet to find any creche/kids club that matches up to Rock City. Thank you so much to you all. In addition, our stay did not start on the best foot as i had tried to request rooms on a certain level/side of the hotel, but this did not happen. However, as soon as Manuel (duty manager) heard about this he got in touch and was incredibly professional and friendly and did everything he could to make a our stay better than we could have expected. From complimentary breakfasts to spa treatments, he really was so kind and we thank him for making our holiday and memorable one and ensuring that we will return to Hard Rock when coming back to Ibiza. Thanks again Manuel. Mike BurrowsMore
Take me back.... please
Absolutely loved this hotel, 5 star and beyond, nothing was too much trouble. The pool parties were great and the violinist they have perform is absolutely out of this world, I have never seen anything like it, but I loved it. With this hotel been bed and breakfast the food you had to choose from was top notch and it had something for everybody, even Coeliacs (like myself) with its own table away from the other food and own toaster. They have the Nespresso coffee machines situated around the dining area and I was expecting George Clooney to come walking out but I left disappointed... ha ha Overall this hotel is very much worth a visit and I would definitely return without a doubt. Hard Cash Hotel on the Rocks
As the taxi pulls up to the hotel - it looks the business. The reception area was tidy and clean and the guys on reception were very friendly and extra helpful. Check in was easy and the electronic (tag) wrist band idea is great and works a treat. No more stupid key cards - or asking for keys - or losing keys. The door handle has a tag reader and it works beautifully. All hotels should have this. We had arrived early to the hotel - around 10.50am and the room should have been ready by 12pm - however we were told it would be around 3pm before we could have our Gold Suite. In the mean time we were given temporary wrist bands to wear and put our luggage in storage - and enjoy the facilities. As we had an early flight we had not eaten anything - so breakfast was high on the agenda - however they stop serving breakfast at 11am in the main restaurant. However, there is a small outlet called the Constant Grind - that serves breakfast and pastries and crepes etc. Its just that the COST is horrific - 3 X full English (2 minus any meats - extra eggs & hash browns) and some teas & coffees cost us £60. That's right £60 ! Ive stayed in some of the top hotels in the world and not paid £60 for breakfast ever. This was the start of the mega RIP OFF ! Eventually our rooms were ready & off to the 3rd floor we went. The lifts are small but there are 4 lifts and we never had any problems. The room was spacious and very modern and looked the part. However looks and practicalities are very different. Which ever Clown designed the rooms needs to have his or her head examined. They clearly didn't stay in the room. The Loo is a frosted glass box in the middle of the room and the sink and bathroom are at the other end of the room. As a minimum they should have a sink in the loo box to wash your hands - at the moment dirty fingers are touching the door handle and its just disgusting. The bath tub and shower are like being in a display case for all to see - similar to an Amsterdam brothel window ! The rest of the fixtures and fitting are good and the bed was comfortable. I had read on a previous review that only 1 bottle of water is provided free in the room - regardless of the length of stay - i checked this with the staff and its TRUE. - What a disgrace, every hotel I've stayed in before, have all provided water everyday - no question. Considering the prices charged here - a bottle of water a day should be no issue at all. We had a Bed & Breakfast deal when we booked - however when chatting to other residents - they were being charged £38 per person for breakfast - Astronomical ! Talking of Breakfast - it was great ! Loads of choice, everything fresh and well presented. A lovely chef on hand to make you what ever omelette or egg type you want - even a live musician ! - nothing unusual as this is standard in all 5* hotels. Get down early if you want an outside seat with sea view. We ventured to the pool area and scoped the surroundings - Its a great site - lovely beach and 2 chillout areas. The main pool and The Beach Club - both had plenty of loungers and towels and great service from the staff. We did find that the beach area staff where a little forgetful. We had asked for towels 3 times to 3 different members of staff - after 40 minutes - we still did not have any towels - so i went my self to get them. We also ordered cocktails and some fries. They took a long time to arrive and were lacking in taste and had far too much ice. The fries were delicious but lacked salt & when i asked for condiments - nothing arrived at all. Paying by wrist band is a good concept and works well - but the biggest issue is again the cost of lazing in the sun - 2 x cocktails, 1 x Smoothie & 1x fries set us back £45. As mentioned earlier - we had bed & breakfast - so for lunch and dinner we were eating out. Ibiza is crazy expensive - not sure how the young party animals can afford to be here ? We were here off season so assumed it would be cheaper - but the rip off continues - Taxis are costly too - short journeys from the hotel into Ibiza town (Elvissa) would set you back between £10 - £20 per oneway journey. So a return trip would easily swallow £40 and you haven't even eaten anything. Eating out is far cheaper than eating in the hotel - and there is a good choice of places to try. Our 1st night out eating we went to Pad Thai Wok - probably the best Pad Thai & Thai Green Curry ive had in years. The whole meal with drinks was £44 + £20 for taxi. Still cheaper than our £60 breakfast ! Every 5* Hotel ive stayed in - included the use of the gym, sauna & steam room and spa facilities - But not here - its an extra £20 each. Treatments are expensive too. When we arrived we were kept waiting for our room - so while we waited we asked for a late checkout for the day we were leaving - We were told that this cannot be done "now" and that we must ask on our last day. A note was entered on the system. What happened is that we had to be out of our room by 12pm - however our flight was not till 9:50pm and our taxi was booked for 7pm. So on the day of departure i asked for a late check out - and was told "No". apparently they had a corporate booking by SEAT cars for 600 guests - Now I'm no dimwit but Seat would have booked way in advance - so - why not just tell us on the day i first asked instead of making us repeat the request on the day of departure ? I like the Hotel a lot - The Staff are really great and helpful and friendly. The location is great - the beach is gorgeous - the fact that the hotel is in direct line of Flight paths of all the planes landing on the island is for plane watchers a delight - for those less into planes - its an irritation. The prices are crazy. The service could be improved and some things should be included such as daily water in your room. The Burning question is - Would we return or recommend the Hard Rock Hotel ? Well its a NO. Unless the hotel invite us back as their guests.More
