When are the opening parties in Ibiza?
The party season kicks off – get the inside scoop on Ibiza's opening parties.
Ibiza’s opening parties kick off at the beginning of May. That’s right, we’re talking about the return of all-night raves, amazing venues and knockout line-ups. So, if it’s your first time to the White Isle, or if you’re a clubbing native, we’ve carefully sorted through the best venues for you to boogie at during Ibiza’s opening party season. Read on to find out which events you can attend this year…
AMNESIA
If it’s your first time to Ibiza, Amnesia is the venue that should top your list for the opening parties this year. The San Antonio based nightclub is a long-standing favourite on the White Isle, boasting two huge dance rooms. The first looks like a dark cauldron, and the other is flooded with light when the sun rises. Don’t be surprised if you get blasted by an ice cannon, by the way. They’re well known for striking the crowds by surprise...
You’ll forget all about the Monday blues at Cocoon’s opening party. This is an annual bash that lasts for a whopping 19 weeks, opening its doors on Saturday 11th May 2019. Cocoon is all about getting back to the basics of dance music, so you can expect longer DJ sets, which allow the artists to explore new depths on the decks. The party usually starts around midnight, and – unsurprisingly – doesn’t finish until way after sunrise.
Tuesdays are reserved for the Together party. The main area usually plays host to electronic duo, Chase & Status, who also welcome much-loved guests like Rudimental, Wilkinson and Preditah every year. If you’re after something a little deeper, head over to Defected in The House, who literally take over the terrace with their funky disco and house beats. You can also expect to see the likes of Gorgon City, Hannah Wants and Amin Edge & Dance up at the decks.
If you’re looking for electronic vibes, look no further than Cream. Two rooms are reserved for EDM, house, trance and progressive house music that’ll definitely make a great Throwback Thursday story. The resident DJs here include Paul Van Dyke, Steve Aoki, Above & Beyond, and chart-topping Fatboy Slim.
In case you didn't know, the Ibiza club classic, Space, closed in 2016, the Elro's glitzy parties moved to Amnesia. We think it’s safe to say that this opening party will always be one to remember. It kicks off on Saturday 1st of June 2019 and its opening is usually marked by inflatables flying through the room, brightly coloured dancers and oh-so-much confetti.

If animal-themed fancy dress and luminous body paint sounds like your thing, the Zoo Project opening party at Benimussa Park should top your itinerary with an opening party announced for Sunday 2nd June 2019. This event has been running for the last decade and is celebrated for being one of the most unique parties on the White Isle.
Inside the grounds there are three different stages. One of them used to be an actual seal pit when the zoo was still in use, so it’s really unusual but fun. When you want to take breaks in between drinking and dancing, you’ll also find a tree-lined pool, a foodie corner and a photo booth, or you can sign yourself up for a massage.

DC-10
DC-10 is renowned for being one of Ibiza’s most prized nightclubs and its opening party will be held on Monday 20th May 2019. Since 1999, it’s become infamous for its day and night parties – Circoloco and Paradise – that take place in an impressive converted aircraft hangar right next to Ibiza’s airport. It’s also no secret that this place hosts some of the most amazing music in Ibiza.
Jamie Jones’ Monday night party at Circoloco is sure to get you pumped. The atmosphere here is electric – you can expect orange-hued sunsets as you mingle and dance on the outdoor terrace. Plus, the legendary list of house and techno DJs that pump out their tunes here is neverending – you’ll be in for a right treat.
Paradise tickets sell out almost every year, so book early if you don't want to miss out. The Martinez Brothers, Maya Jane Coles, Richy Ahmed, Skream, wAFF and Patrick Topping are all regulars here, making it a heaven for house music lovers.

IBIZA ROCKS
The Ibiza Rocks Music Festival has been going for over 10 years, so they know a thing or two about throwing a good party. Remember how Craig David returned to the top of the charts for the first time in 10 years in 2016? Don’t worry if not, we’ll fill you in. The King of Garage brought his TS5 club night all the way from Miami to Ibiza Rocks, wowing the crowds with his opening pool parties, playing an unforgettable mix of his new and old music. He was joined by other DJ legends, like Matt Jam Lamont, MC Big Narstie and DJ Zinc, to name a few. This year, Craig David will be kicking the season off again, joined by Hardy Caprio, Krystal Roxx and Patrick Nazemi on Friday 17th May 2019.

PACHA
Pacha is a must-visit if you’re making your Ibiza debut and its opening party kicks things off on Friday 3rdh of May 2018. It’s really popular among locals and holidaymakers alike – leaving its doors open all year – and also takes the crown for being Ibiza Town's oldest nightclub. And with a reputation for providing clubbing in style, it’s unrivalled when it comes to glitz and glam.
Clubbers can look forward to a one-of-a-kind experience. It’s all about hippy and happy vibes here, in case you hadn’t already guessed. It’s well known for being the most colourful party on the island, too, where peace symbols, floral clothing, sparkly disco balls and dancers take centre stage.

PRIVILEGE
According to Guinness World Records, Privilege is the biggest nightclub in the world. The superclub has ceilings that measure in at a whoppingf 25 metres, housing a suspended DJ booth, an indoor pool and a huge dance floor. On top of that, you’ll also have spectacular views of the island from the chilled-out garden. Get ready to show off some moves at the opening party on Saturday 8th June 2019.

USHUAIÄ
If you’re looking for an opening party with a difference, Ushuaiä ticks all the boxes on Saturday 19th May 2019. This open-air venue has been crowned the best of its kind in Ibiza, plus it’s nestled up to the golden sands of Playa d’en Bossa beach. This place is all about poolside raves, glitzy décor and VIPs. The line-ups are nothing short of impressive, either. Previous years have seen performances from some of the world’s top DJs, including David Guetta.
