Stayed here the End of April early May, the good points first.. Hotel was AMAZING, staff extremely helpful, Food out of this world, absolute 5 star luxury. However, the hotel was so vast that you hardly ever saw another guest unless it was of course mealtime. The only thing it could improve upon was the entertainment program, I understand it is an adults only Hotel but some of us still enjoy a late night. A Beautiful Hotel but just a little isolated. More
Relaxing, no stress, amazing food & room.
Just arrived back after a week here. What an amazing hotel. Very big and spacious - never busy. However I wouldnt class this as a Spa resort as I was very disappointed at just an indoor pool with a portable plastic hot tub as a Spa. Then downstairs there is a Sauna - no Spa. No your usual Sensimar experince. Treatments very expensive 72 euros for a massage ! The rooms are amazing - very modern and spacious and the bed was huge and so comfortable - a good nights sleep every night. We requested a room up high and we got one with a lovely sea view looking at the lower pool as well. Very quiet and relaxing throughout the whole week. This hotel is mainly Germans and they dont socialise much and have glum faces - not the fault of the hotel. The Motown group was amazing and he couldnt get them up to dance to save his life ha ha. The food is amazing - no complaints and a special on everyday at the Italian restaurant for 12 euros. Drinks are difficult to get hold of - you have to go through a waiter to buy a drink - round the pool or in the evenings. I have suggested a "pop up " bar to them which would work. Us Brits like a drink round the pool when on hols. The pools were top class and clean as is the hotel in general. Top class fittings and very impressive. We had a great holiday and totally relaxed whilst there. Confused why they make you queue for a table in the dining area outside - there are plenty of empty tables but you have to wait to be seated. Ridiculous really as you can just sit anywhere in the main area and not wait. The entertainments team are very good and are improving things to make the Sensimar experince come through - would be intrested to see how the experince is marketed to the German clientale. The beach below the hotel is amazing - clean, lovely clear water and a beautiful cool breeze. You can walk down and have a skinny dip - but beware lots of nudists. Didnt bother us - it was lovely. The chipmonks on the rocks are the highlight - so tame and friendly. You can walk down tthe beach to the Ventura shopping area where they have a Spar shop to buy sandwiches and drinks no problems. A lovely walk both ways out of the beach area... Again very relaxing area. Would recommend this hotel to couples wanting peace and relaxation and a quiet resort - it ticks all the boxes. Not a resort for same sex couples wanting a Spa experience as at other Sensimar resorts. Couples tend to be the theme happening here - all ages. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and swam in the upper pool daily and read a few good books.More
Sensimar autumn break in Fuerteventura
Our first stay in a Sensimar hotel and we were certainly not disappointed. The hotel is immensely spacious and spotlessly clean, some may find it clinical with lots of glass and tiles, but it is impressive. As you enter reception you are met with a glass of bubbly, a huge high ceiling and immense tiled area with lots of space, this is reflected throughout the hotel. The hotel is set on a slope down to the beach, reception being on level zero with three floors above, there are also seven floors below, stepped in twos or threes, due to the terrain. Some reviewers have complained about the number of steps, however, with a little thought you can move between any of the floors by using lifts. We were in room 3017 which was very large, included a fridge,tv, tea and coffee making facilities and safety deposit box. This was on level minus seven, with a terrace and a sea view, and getting to reception without using stairs required the use of three lifts, but it was hardly rocket science. There are pools on two different levels, with plenty of sunbeds and parasols, there is one parasol per pair of sunbeds. We never had a problem finding a sunbed and although there were quite a few people around the large area surrounding the pool, the pool was never crowded. The buffet restaurant offered an impressive choice of food, and there is also an a la carte restaurant if you choose to pay more. Drinks were average prices for a hotel of this standard, although some complained they were expensive. I have certainly paid much more in London, and even in the hotel we stayed in at Manchester airport the night before we flew. The staff were all pleasant and helpful ( especially Suzy and Gillean ), and in keeping with the atmosphere of the hotel quite relaxed, it is not the sort of hotel where you are easily going to get drunk, as sometimes you can wait a little while for the waiters to come round, however, if you are wanting a noisy drunken holiday, this is not the hotel for you. The beach is sandy, never overcrowded and is effectively private, as the nearest hotel in either direction is a good five to ten minute walk, and have their own beach area. There are a few nudists on the beach but they are generally discreet. There is a small shopping centre with a supermarket about twenty to twenty five minutes walk away, this can be done along the beach dependent on the tide. The nearest town is Jandia, around ten euros in a taxi, with several bars and many shops. It is worth spending an extra few euros to visit Morro Jable, ( recommended to us by another couple we met ), a much smaller characterful place to eat or have a drink. We found the hotel exceptional, apart from meal times you never felt the hotel was busy, and temperatures in the mid to high twenties in late October must lift everyone's spirits.More
We arrived back from the Royal Palm yesterday, after having a wonderful weeks holiday. We had a restricted sea view suite which although was on the other side of the hotel so no direct sun we had wonderful privacy. The suite was enormous and spotlessly clean, with fresh towels all the time. The food was varied and lovely and we also had lunch in the little Italian restaurant a few times which was also great. I do feel that the pool could have been warmer and I did agree that more could be done about drinks and snacks around the pool. The staff were always friendly and helpful. If you want a quiet, peaceful, relaxing and chilled holiday this is the holiday for you. If you want a lively noisy entertainment type of holiday then maybe this would be too quiet. The tui reps were all friendly and made us welcome.More
Very nice holiday
Just returned from a week here and overall, very enjoyable. I read comments raving about how good the food was but I would say, although there was a lot of choice and the presentation was very good, I didn't think the quality was fantastic I'm afraid. Maybe my expectations were too high. The food was also not kept hot enough. Not enough to complain about though. The staff are very friendly (much more than the rest of the guests, who looked miserable!) and helpful. Not a great wine by the glass selection. The place is huge and a little daunting at first to find your way around, certainly could do with more signage. Plenty of activities on offer if that's what people want. Shame they charged for tennis (10 euros an hour) for a court that was empty the whole time virtually. We would have played had it been included, not sure why they had to charge for this as it doesn't cost the hotel anything. Shame that the shops in the hotel were open at very random times (and one I really wanted to look in was closed the whole time) - reception didn't seem well informed of when they would be open. Be warned that the beach is a nudist beach which can be a bit much at times. The hotel is absolutely spotlessly clean, so well kept. The attention to detail with the cleaning is great, even sweeping the sand away from the pathway to the beach early every morning. The staff clearly work hard at this place, and I am sure (at times) for very little thanks.More
