Holidays to Vera set you up with mountain views, a golden-sand beach, and age-old monuments.

A charming town

Dating back to the Middle Ages, Vera is a Spanish town, in Andalucia, that’s full to the brim with history. Fast forward to today, and Vera is quickly becoming one of Spain’s most popular holiday destinations. Visitors flock here for the boutique-lined cobbled streets, mile-long beach, and long list of tapas bars.

Historic sights

The Church of the Incarnation is an important monument in Vera. This 16th-century fortress has four large towers and a huge wooden door that conceals a Baroque-style church. It was once used to protect the locals from pirates. Beyond the walls, you’ll find the orange tree-lined Plaza Mayor. Cafés, boutiques, a picturesque town hall and the Ethnographic and Archaeological Museum all call this place home.

Beach life

A 15-minute taxi ride from the Plaza Mayor puts you on one of the Costa de Almeria's best beaches, El Playazo. Here, golden sands fringe the coastline for a whole mile. You’ll get panoramic mountain views as you explore the shore. It’s big on watersports, too. You can do everything from surfing to canoeing and snorkelling.
