Port Vista Oro

Another stay at this hotel which we always really enjoy. Staff are always very friendly and know us from previous visits. On this occasion we feel there have been a few cutbacks by the hotel to save money. The red wine in bar and restaurant was cheap and poor quality. There were a few bits missing overall at breakfast and the evening meals did not have many choices. Most evenings we just had a little snack as the lunch was always very good, no complaints there. We stayed for 10 nights over Christmas and New Year and the weather was very good, sunny all day on most of them. This highlighted the fact that this hotel does not get much sun as it is in the shade in the town, and for that reason it was a pity that the hotel staff chose not to open the roof terrace, probably more cutbacks. Despite all the little moans we had a fantastic time and the gala meals on Christmas day and New Year's Eve were very good, fantastic range of food and little delights served with rioja red wine. Thank you to all staff again, still one of our favourmtes.

We have just spent a week at New Year at the Vista Oro, the best point is the friendly staff, the receptionist at check in was one of the friendliest people I’ve came across, all restaurant and bar staff all looked like they enjoyed their work, the food every day although limited was perfectly fine, but the hotel pushed the boat out on New Year’s Eve, the gala meal was lovely and there was a free bar for everyone, we didn’t return to the hotel until 2am and the party was still in full swing, the cleaners scrub all areas of the hotel every day and the maids made our beds and tidied up every day also, it is an ideal spot for old and new town but a big downside was the pool area got no sun at all during the winter months, how much sun it would get in the summer months I couldn’t be sure, but that wouldn’t put us off returning
